What is it with both of them?
Both of them bring their teams to the Britannia line up in a 4-5-1 formations to purposely trying to nullify us and make an average of 2 attempts at goal - however afterwards complain about the lack of footballing entertainment!? Their one-eyed holier than thou drivel is then translated into the media reports who swallow the lot hook line and sinker.
As yet again I read the media bemoaning the same as the WBA game that somehow Stoke - yes Stoke - were solely at fault for this lack of entertainment! According to all reports we apparently were the only ones on the pitch in both games who played long balls.
I mean as prime example here's a quotes from the Daily Mail match report: "Marlon King's fine goal in first-half stoppage time seemed to have earned the visitors a deserved win until Ricardo Fuller won and converted a soft-looking penalty 17 minutes from time."
I can only conclude I must of been watching other games to them! Yesterday I witnessed Hull not only playing the spoiling game constantly having 9 or 10 men behind the ball but then having 2 or 3 passes between themselves in their half and launching it long. They created 2 - yes a whole 2 - direct efforts on targe the whole 90 minutes! Much the same as WBA. Yesterday however Hull very nearly fluked a win after offering absolutely nothing for the whole 90 minutes.
To be quite frank it's all complete bullshit! Both talk about their teams as though they are footballing demigods and Stoke shouldn't even be on the same pitch. But the reality is that both teams came to the Britannia with their only ambition to get a point - why can't they be man enough to be honest about it? Instead of just trotting out the same old 'only Stoke play ugly' guff?
All I can say is thank god these 2 games are out of the way. I'll be glad to see established Premier league teams back at the Britannia. Ones who won't just be content to sit with 10 men in defence. Sure this what we do for the majority away from home however I somehow doubt we'll take the same tatics to Hull and WBA.
As for those Hull fans saying 'thank god we don't play Stoke every week' well guess what we think exactly the same about you!
