Every time we have played them since that day i have always had flashbacks of Rooster's miss.Massive Stoke following and it was at our end.I saw him go around the 'keeper and like eveyone around me started celebrating a certain goal.Only to hear a massive groan,he missed. To this day i still don't know how he didn't score. Has a Stoke player ever missed a easier chance?

Remember it well- easiest I ever saw was Keith Scott miss from all of 2 yards v Notts county. Somehow skied it and then went down 'injured' behind the goal. Some actually clapped him back onto the pitch after he made an astonishing recovery. Ironside would have scored it was that easy- still to this day don't know how he managed to put it so high over.
Paterson v Cardiff of course was another absolute sitter

I remember the miss Regis ( I think) at the Fail when the ball got stuck in the mud, with an open goal beaconing!
Edit:
Snap!

Was definately Regis- game should have been called off after that- the ball couldn't roll on the pitch and to be fair wasn't really his fault- did everything right- got it on target and had the surface been playable would have been a goal.
Garth Crooks at Burnley in the FA Cup- down to 9 men a he mis-kicked from 3 yards out with the goal gaping-we went out 1-0 to a shocker of a penalty decision.
Peter Thorne v 'Pool also in that 0-8 defeat. Rounded Arphexad and hit the post with the goal empty, would surely have won that game if he'd scored-was 0-0 at the time ;-)

The fella who ran on the pitch to celebrate Rooster's 'goal' must have felt a right tit!

Our coach and a couple of others were stopped on a dual carriageway and searched for weapons. They found a few along with masses of beer, spirits, drugs etc and we ended up being held for an hour then escorted straight to the ground Apparently alot on these coaches were heading for the Silver Cod to meet a certain Mr Chester who was in charge of arrangements. Needless to say, Stoke were a little shorthanded on that day and took a bit of a pummelling.

Brookes miss against Ipswich and Scotts against portsmoputh were worse than Roosters. Not that it makes Roosters any less crap I hasten to add!

I remember that day well but Cotswold is correct. Gary Brookes miss, v Ipswich many years ago, has to be the worst miss ever from a Stoke City player.
Open goal, 2 yards out in the middle of the goal and he cleared the bar.

Ian Allinson must be one of the biggest letdowns we've ever bought. What a disappointment.
