Am I correct that tickets are not transferrable?

You are correct Moorlander. Not sure if the club would regard an upgrade as a "transfer" though they probably will. No harm is asking I suppose.
The wider point is why do our club get so concerned about transfers of season tickets? When we went to Old Trafford I noticed that ManU has a scheme to put people who don't need to use their season ticket for a particular game in touch with someone who wants to use it for that game.
Clubs who don't sell out their grounds regularly would lose money by allowing transfers of season tickets but clubs where games are sell outs lose nothing. It is about time Stoke recognised that fact.

You can definitely upgrade them. Why bother tho, he will get through on it no problem. My mates who are 26 27 use my nans OAP ticket!

You can transfer any ticket to another person as long as you pay the difference (if there is one) in face value + a £2 admin fee. Has to be done on the day of the match though. My dad has been using my missus season ticket for the last 3 games since she produced a new stokie, just the £2 fee.

Penners, it is certainly true that match day tickets can be exchanged. But season tickets are marked "not transferable" in the season ticket booklet. That is why they have this business of not letting people know the voucher number for a match until they arrive at the ground (it stops people selling or giving just the vouchers to someone else) I don't think it should be that way but that is the way the club appears to want it to be.
Of course there must be hundreds of people at any match who are there with the season ticket belonging to someone else and if they bring the whole season ticket book, the chance of being found out is minimal. But that doesn't mean that the club will allow a season ticket voucher to be upgraded from child to adult for one match. They MIGHT allow it but if they stick to their own rules they won't. Like I said, I wish they were not so picky when we have a sell out crowd.

They definitely do let you transfer a season ticket, because that is what I have been doing. If you read my post you will see that I said "My dad has been using my missus season ticket for the last 3 games", all you have to do is go on match day, when the ticket number is known, and they will transfer the ticket for the difference in face value + a £2 admin fee.

Fair enough - makes a bit of a nonsense of calling them non transferable, though.
