january is only 5 weeks or so away For me we could do a lot worse than Victor Moses, wayne roultedge, matty etherington and scott sinclair. all these players are surely within our reach?

You've got to factor in the fact that TP is more likely to go for your "wide midfielder" type than an out and out winger. That said, I'd like to see us still in the hunt for Dramani.
Have a feeling we'll be looking at the likes of McCulloch, McFadden (maybe?) Ledley, maybe Seb Larsson?

Victor Moses - young and lives in london - no chance
wayne roultedge - possible but maybe a bit lightweight
matty etherington - lives in london, would end up at somewhere like fulham if anywhere
scott sinclair - young lives in London no chance
I have it on good authority that Pennat will be at this club next year, either on loan(probably) or on a full time basis.

One of: Haynes, Dramani, or McCulloch
(Not necessarily my choices, but most likely)

Wouldnt Asaba be a bit "mature in years"

Id like to see Ledley come in, but Id imagine Baardiff will still be twats and deny he is for sale until Hull come calling.
Failing that nobody has mentioned Stephen Hunt at Reading? I know we would face competition for him but worth a shout?

I think we'll see pennant here on loan even though he did turn us down for liverpool reserves before the start of the season.
As for surman i think well go for him anyway (one for the future) and he can sit in the center of the park anyway.

Not Pennant!! a good player but he seems like a cock, we dont need disruptive players who think they are better than they are. He turned us down.
Surman would be interesting though.

isnt Ledley out injured for months?

Brum will keep hold of Mcfadden for their next prem campaign.
Anyone with spare time on their hands needs to search the ranks of premiership clubs to find fringe players who are too good to sit on the bench every game, there are bound to be some.

I don 't get this "Cardiff are being cocks by not selling us Ledley" argument. He's their best player, and they did what they could to hold onto him. I hope we'd do the same.

monkeycat has suggested to me - just a theory of his - that our huge £6/£7m bid for Ledley was fabrication in order to make both clubs look good in the eyes of their fans - Stoke for bidding big money & Cardiff for turning it down. no evidence as such buts its well known that Jones & TP are mates.
personaly I dont buy it but you never know.
If Ledley is fit & the above theory isnt correct then surely we will go in for him again. he's out of contract so that in itself will drive the price down the obvious thing to would be a player/s + cash deal (e.g. Pugh,Cresswell whoever) & maybe Simmo if we get another keeper in (we were linked with Joe Davies (?) at Peterboro.

Why does the fact someone lives in London rule them out? because they are young players (bar etherington) who will not want to move. Its very rare that these players would ever sign unless we were paying alot of money, which we won't be!

Reading were extremely clever when they bought Dave Kitson's replacement. They went north of the border to snap up Noel Hunt who is Stephen's brother.
I'm sure Stephen will be more than happy staying there, at the very least until next summer (when he will know what division Reading will be in for 2009/2010)

I appreciate what you're saying but it's not like that 100% of the time, look at Tom Soares, so you can't rule players out quite so definitely imo. Dramani, Johnson or Moses would be my choice out of those mentioned so far. If we're aware of the Russian market, then perhaps we could have a look at RadekSirl, a proposed target for Everton. The money Zenit will be probably paying him could be a massive stumbling block, however.

We are more likely to sign players who don't need to move house, especailly in this current economic climate!

I would love to see Brett Emerton down the right Big, Strong, Quick and skillfull; in fact if he wasn't so skillfull TP would probably already have signed him Ricardo Garner would do me on the left as well Both would have to be bought, but are they out of our reach??
