joeinOz - perhaps the scoreline is NOT a shock but the performance and the tactical thinking behind it IS a shock - but then we have so few among those selected who CAN pass accurately - even if they're actually ALLOWED to - which I doubt.
In perspective, it was against a Top 4 side - but the other 15 can't be quaking in their boots.

Hopefully this game will highlight to Tone that Faye and Cresswell aren't good enough. Lets forget about this shit today and sweep under the carpet.

Too much depression, i thought we had moments where we played fantastic, their goals came from a combination of luck(2 long range), dodgy moments in defence and Sorensen did have a bit of a shocker.

Thrashed, there is no positives to come from that at all. We will be lucky if we make 4 points away all season. Poor team selection and tactics, went down with a whimper.

Like little boys on that pitch, did Delap kick a ball properly all game? that should give the press some ammo to say he's all hands and no feet.
Laughable and looked a real poor outfit, as usual unexplainable subs...
Expected a loss but it truly was pathetic and could/should of been more!
Fuller banned for WBA so lets hope on 2 home wins

Better Sorro has a shock today than against the baggies. As for Simmo being recalled-no thanks!

I just hope that Cressy doesn't get near the matchday squad again...
I feel for Soares, after his excellent performances he doesn't even make the bench for 2 games - is he injured or what?

I can see why Sorro has record of over 30 conceded against the shit in 15 games before today. He never did anything right all game

if were going to lose 5-0 why dont we experiment with a diffrent midfield and try to play some football, another wasted opportunity,we know what cresswell and wilco can do already and there not good enough, when your 1-0 down to bring on cresswell is in my eyes conceding defeat shorely we have better players to bring on at ot when were chasing the game

Agree. We were always going to get a hammering at some stage. The key factor is how we react to this hammering.

Thank fuck that is over. Shawcross and Sorensen have been utterly wank today - no other way to put it. Both were rabbits in the headlights.
First goal - Sorensen just didn't react it was nigh on straight at him and he had perfect sight of it.
Second - WTF was Shawcross doing picking up ermmm no one.
Third - Stemmed from the point that Shawcross should of put the fucker in Row Z not pissed about
Fourth - Just a quality goal.
Fifth - Shawcross what the fuck was that challenge? Sorensen you had I think 7 in the wall and you still allowed it in to your left!
Time for Simmo and Cort to be given chance again. Tone needs to take a page out of Lou's book after bad performances he always dropped the underperformers. Amdy Faye should be dropped also.
Team against the Tesco carrier bags
Simmo
Griff Cort A.D Faye Higgy
Soares Diao Delap Olofinjana
Mama Kitson
No fucking about and no passengers!

I didn't think Shawcross did as badly as anyone else, as much as I love Delap, he was woeful today, as was Mama and sorensen, our best player was Griffin again.

our best player was Griffin again. Agree serps. Put some good crosses in as well as defended pretty well against Ronaldo. Done really well this season (surprised me to be honest). Also though Sali had a reasonable game and higgi wasn't bad. Neither forward stood much of a chance given 90% of thw action was the other end of the pitch, but agree Rory looked a bit lost (maybe the throwin hype is getting to him a bit?) ah

Griffin has been simply superb this season and I just wish all the wankers who slated him early doors would rear their heads right now. He is currently simply premiership quality and doing a crackin job

He is currently simply premiership quality and doing a crackin job That would be me and I've said many times he's been exceptional this season. Like last season he was utter bollocks and him getting injured was why we got promoted! Sad but true! He went off at Coventry and it was all uphill from then-a conincidence I know but a pretty spooky one!

Did you slate him this season or last? To be fair he was a surprising inclusion right from the start of the season with Dicko particularly doing so well last. But I don't think he has put a foot wrong and it pissed me right off at Bolton he came in for abuse when he played well and then went on from strength to strength still with the moaners on his back.

I slated him last season and pre-season of this, he has proved me wrong though and has been superb. I only say what I think so if a player is playing well I won't be pig headed say he's been shit but if I think a player isn't good I'll say too.

thats a fair enough approach and I can't argue with that, perhaps the ones I have the issue with are when they are so quick to jump on the backs of players so quickly. One crap pass or poor clearance does not warrant the level of abuse certain indiciduals get after such a good season. Griff is my case in concern he seems to be on a knife edge with some, he plays so well for most of the season and then gets slights against him for the most minor errors. Really gets my goat going............

Those of you who have cause for complaint, please state off the top of your heads (no googling here) the last team outside the top 4 to win a Prem game at old trafford?
5-0 4-3 3-0 1-0 3-2 they're all the same, nil points.

our best player was Griffin again. As much as I agree with you, especially so far this season, I thought griff was rather non-existant especially when up against ronaldo (yes i know it's difficult!) but at times when he did tricks on him and went round him it was like he had been mesmerised by is feet . And to be honest it summed up a performance where we didn't give a very bad account ourselves , but still I still think that 5-0 was 2 goals above what I would have taken against us at the start of the day. However I didn't think that griff was the worst performer of the day. So roll on next week.

Just back.
1st point. Old Trafford. Its more like an Old Library. I sat in hospitality in the main stand. The only fans I heard were Stoke's. There was so many little pockets of their fans trying to start songs but most of the other pockets were n't interested in joining in. For 75000 fans there is absolutely no atmosphere.
2nd point. I witnessed why Man Ure fans are hated in the football world so much. The arrogance of them is astounding. They think they (the fans) are superstars and the crap they come out with is untrue. One idiot shouting and Pulis to sit down ans shut up. What a prat.
3rd point. I enjoyed watching MY LOCAL TEAM play on one of the biggest football stages in the world.
4th point. Rory's throws did n't work because the perimeter of the pitch is a disgrace. The run off area is nothing short of dangerous. If two players had come together and gone down that HILL somebody could have got really badly hurt.

We expected to dig in and get in Manure's faces but what did we get? A limp wristed thrashing. I hope this is the first and last time this happens. I am thoroughly ashamed for every Stokie. Heads must roll in January in order to bring in some decent players who know how to keep the ball longer than the usual two seconds it is taking to give the ball to the opposition, and take the game into the attacking area. Our possession rates are apalling, usually 60% to 40% in the other teams favour thus giving them far too many chances to score. No more games like this Stoke, please.Get your fingers out!!!!

Another point. Let's get back to playing with a proper ball! These useless beach balls are flying in all directions at free kicks before they even get to goalkeepers. Long ball tactics are no good because you can't pass accurately more than a few yards, but free kick specialists like Ronaresole are given an unfair advantage as the ball flies all over the place on it's way goalwards giving goalies no chance.

What frustrates the hell out of me is this. Much as I think supertones done a tremendous job- there are definitely again now, games and situations where, we seem to leave better footballers on the bench than are performing on the pitch.
To me recentlly both Cresswell and Djao have been good examples
Especially where we have Whelan, Soares and Tonge ALLTO EAGER TO ADD A BIT OF QUALITY AND BADLY NEEDED INCISIVE PASSING AND PACE TO OUR SIDE.
Headless chickens are fine in the champoinship but some of our players limatations have been al too cruelly exposed already - surely Tone can see this ?
For whilst we 've done well so far and yesterday must be quickly forgotten, - to sit 2 banks of 4 in front of a manchester united who were already 3 goals up without attempting to change it, was VERY disappointing to me.
(and we lost by 5 goals as it was)
I suspenct I'M not the only one who feels this either.

I was disgusted by the performance yesterday particularly from a non existent midfield. We are constantly giving the ball away and just look cumbersome.
Delap was shocking and it was a poor substitution from Pulis to bring Cresswell on.
Its time now that Tony rethinks this kind of substitution.
Griff was man of the match for me.
The Stokies were great (I was in the North Stand) and the constant battering Ronaldo got was class. He didnt like it did he. OK he got two but on another day.............
I always thought this would be our most difficult game of the season but to be honest I expected much more from us.
