I don't know, we could be on 69 points by then and pushing for automatic promotion! I think we took about 2,000 last year as well.....great fun, 90 minutes singing and snow-ball fights before and after! ;D

Rob, Didn't hear anything about the "bricks in the middle" bit. Looked like a good clean snowball fight to me. Mind you, I also believe in the Easter Bunny and that all Policeman are fair-minded, law-abiding individuals so what do I know?

Yes Smudge, I would like to make it clear there were no bricks in my balls! (Just so I don't get the police doing a raid on Loughborough and taking my precious TS card away from me!)

Sorry to burst your bubble on this one Pricey but Rob (another Penkhull Stokie I'd like to add!) is right.
The official figure for last season's travelling support at Norwich was.... drum roll.... 1,083.
I remember when we used to take 3,500 to Norwich every season... and it only cost 20p to get in and Stoke always won 5-0 and we used to win the European Cup every season as well.... ;D

2000, like I said.
Bollocks to that figure of just over 1000 Smudge, I can remember them announcing that their fans made up 92% of the crowd....so that would mean there were......about 1600 of us.
I'll settle for that whatever anyone says.
What street do you live on Rob? I'm at uni in Loughborough at the moment (as one of the messages above kind of says) but my (well, not mine strictly) house is in Brighton Street.
Right, I'm going to do some revision, talk to you all later!

The figure of 1,083 seemed about right to me Pricey. It was hardly chocker... it WAS freezing cold and there had been snow on the roads all the way down... hardly a recipe for a huge following!?

If I remember rightly I was in Spain and Sky was on one TV in the bar and Arsenal v Fulham was on the other. When Lee Mills late goal flashed up I let out a huge "Yesssss" which resulted in the entire pub looking round and then bursting into fits of laughter.
There used to be a pub in Norwich called "Hector's House" which has t o be the best pub name ever.

Pricey, the announcement that they give with the attendance is the percentage of the ground filled by the total crowd (home and away), so 92% would mean a total attendance of about 20,240 (out of 22,000 capacity). Looking this up, the actual attendance for that day was 20,186. Currently, away teams get an allocation of only 286 tickets due to the construction of the new stand, but that is due to be officially opened on 21 Feb at their game against West Ham, so it should be OK for when we go. JR, Hector's House is no longer I’m afraid. It’s now a vodka bar called ‘Café Da’. How times change…..

Yes Rob I'm Chris's brother, who are you then? NorwichStokie, Is it true that those 286 tickets consist of two or three rows that run pretty much all the way along the front of the side of the ground where the new stand is being constructed? I heard something like that from my mates Norwich-supporting mate who also said that the 92% was home fans...obviously got that one wrong then didn't he the dopey sod!

Pricey, Yes mate, you're right. I got some free tickets to go and see them loose at home to Bradford the other week. The away fans are 3 deep all the way along the touchline with a big wooden board behind them to seperate them from new stand. Not too condusive to a good atmostphere, especially when we're talking about Norwich. In the stand I was in (Riverside, right behind the goal), there was only one chant ("Come on City") that went through the stand, the whole game - just one! The Barclay stand was a bit louder than it was the last time I was there, but the rest of the 'fans' just sit there and complain about the seeting plan and then leave 10 minutes early By the time we go though, the new stand will be open and we'll be able to 'stretch out' and make ourselves comfortable Cheers!

I'm sure I read somewhere that we're actually due in as the first to visit. As it's always such a good day out at Norwich, no aggro, great pubs etc perhaps both clubs should make a concerted effort to fill the place. Perhaps it could be suggested that TS Card holders can take a guest or something. Maybe the club could offer travel at cost price or even lower? A few thousand Stokies in high spirits would make for a cracking day out. I'm sure things would pass off trouble free and it could then be used as a barometer for other similar games. Maybe the Oatcake can start a campaign along those lines?

Hi Gin, There was a rumour doing the rounds that the opening day for the stand was our fixture and you wouldn't need a TS card to get in, so I rang Norwich and asked them. The opening day is their West Ham fixture, a number of weeks before ours, and they will be honouring the ID card scheme when we visit.

There aren't that many options are there Rob? Norwich or Preston away for me. I know we lost to Preston but it was a great feeling when Cooke bought it back to 3-3 in the 93rd minute (in the sun as well!), and Krissy Commons was on fire in the first half. Other than that there wasn't much last season was there? I was feeling like shit on the day of the Reading game but I suppose everyone else enjoyed it (: , Sheffield Wedesday and Preston gave us some hope and the mental when we scored against Brighton was decent but I don't think any of those (for me anyway) get near the two away games.
