After the tepid display at Priestfield and the bumbling effort home to Cardiff could anyone have guessed that by by mid January we would not only be secure in mid table but be in form so grand that some are casting an eye to the play offs? (that was a long sentence..phew!!)
The manager deserves loads of credit for this. When things were going horribly wrong there were plenty of people saying the buck stops with him, simlarly he is also the main man to thank for the good times.
Well done Tony and the players! b

Second that. Trrific. ;D A good thing, too, that they've put together a good string of results now, seeing as what's ahead of them in February.

The next two months fixtures certainly give us an excellent chance to make a play off push, lots of six pointers in there, personally I dont think we're strong enough but another couple of signings and who knows?
Realistically I'd be looking for the following from the next ten games...
Walsall (H) 3 Millwall (A) 0 Palace (A) 3 Wigan (H) 3 Crewe (A) 1 Ipswich (H) 1 Watford (H) 3 Reading (A) 1 Sunderland (A) 0 WBA (H) 1 Norwich (A) 0
That would take us to 55 points with 21 left to play for from a slightly easier run in. 3 or 4 wins out of the final 7 games would leave us somewhere in the mid-sixties, outside the play offs but a bloody good effort really, and a few quid off the bookies for me too ;D

If we could hit somewhere around the 65 pts mark by the end of this season I genuinely think that will be a great achievement. 26 points from the final 18 games is not beyond us by any stretrch of the imagination!
I'd have said that at the start of the seaosn but to be even thinking about it after we droppe dinto the bottom three after losing against Cardiff shows what a superb job the manager and the players have done in turning around our season!
Next month is going to be bitchingly tough though and we have to know that we'll probably hit a bad patch sooner or later. The general trend is definitely in an upwards direction though!

February will be difficult and the yellow cards mean suspensions will be a pain in the arse. Despite all this we are still capable of going into those games and picking up points. Could be a test of the managers mindset. Will he return to strange formations or trust our players to take the game to the opposition?

The amazing thing is, we have actually been winning games that we expect to win, which is different to most Stoke sides recently.
I'm trying to be down to earth by saying this great run will end and I think we'll end up settling around 14th, but who knows??

I keep have to stop meself from thinking 'what if'. It's the first time as a Stoke fan that I can think 'what if' without it being negative. It's bloody exciting. Now I'm going to have a lie down and chuck cold water over meself

This season is drawing paralells with the season we got into the play-offs and lost to Leicster. Maybe we could do it again without the losing to someone bit! ;D
