He's only played 159 minutes out of 18 league games, which is odd.
And only 3 games in the 2007 Russian season too.
And he only seems to have played 4 games for Red Star Belgrade and 31 in Turkey.
He's certainly had a strange career for a 22-year-old.
And I'd love to know how the line of communication worked between him, his agent and his club.
How has he ended up in England for a week with Stoke and him apparently convinced he was available on loan immediately, only for them to turn around and say 'deal off' at the 11th hour?
What are they after, and why is such a fringe player suddenly so valuable to them when they seemed to have already given him permission to move on?
Are they just trying to get more cash out of us?

His 4 games for Red Star were all as sub, scoring one goal.

My first thoughts were that his club wanted a "sweetener" FM.

My first thoughts were that his club wanted a "sweetener" FM. I think that could be the case here, I was just thinking that. a bit strange for it to all go tits up when he's trained with us etc. Do they think we're made of money ;D?

I'm not usually cynical, and I hope I'm proved wrong, but I have a horrible feeling that the whole thing has been a stunt by his agents to put him in the shop window ready for the end of the Russian season. By the time he's available, most clubs in western Europe will be aware he's available and, if he's good, Stioke won't get a look-in.

He's in the squad on the BBC website in the Cheltenham preview. But that means bugger all as it's notoriously unreliable.

He was also in the squad before the Villa match so I wouldn't read too much into it.
There are still some places claiming we have signed Rudi Austin

If we're chasing this Kanga, looks like he's the Dramani replacement.
If he was on the bench in Russia on Saturday,it looks like that one has hit the buffers.

Noon headlines on Radio Stoke...
Scholes has told them the deal is still possible, and they'll know either way by midday tomorrow.

I wonder if we could yet end up with both Dramani and Kanga? That would be a bit surreal. ;D

I think I'd prefer Akalé, to be honest. He seems much more seasoned, and is actually left-footed.
But maybe he's the back-up plan...

news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/stoke_city/7572265.stmSTOKE CLOSE TO DRAMANI DECISION
Stoke City will know on Thursday whether they have been successful in securing the signature of Haminu Dramani, BBC Radio Stoke reports. Lokomotiv Moscow's Ghana international winger has trained with the Potters and is thought to be close to securing a six-month loan deal. However any move would be subject to the 22-year-old securing a work permit. Dramani, who can operate on either wing and has won 27 caps for the Black Stars, played at the 2006 World Cup. Potters assistant manager Dave Kemp told BBC Radio Stoke: "He's a player we've known about for a while and we've become aware he might be available. "He's a pacy winger, which is something we haven't got." "He had a work-out with the lads and looked very quick," said Kemp. "It's difficult to say how he would do in games because it's different playing in the Premier League than it is in Russia. "He has the tools to be a success over here but it all depends on how quickly he adapts. He has a talent that we're definitely interested in." Meanwhile, midfielder Anthony Pulis is expected to complete a move to Southampton before Monday's transfer deadline.

Whilst all this saga has been on-going, wouldn't it have made sense for Stoke to have applied for a work permit prior to his expected arrival?

Maybe they already have put the wheels in motion regarding a work permit. Let's hope so anyway.

I don't think the work permit is the problem here from what I've read, it's probably to agree with Lokomtive Moscow. Work permit application was sent together with Diagne-Faye's according to the official site.

Would the Home Office be prepared to start processing information for a permit relating to employment in this country that remained purely prospective, with no 100% guaranteed offer?
