actually give us an advantage over teams?
Do the opposition players really believe the shit spouted by the papers and their managers, and so go out expecting us to lump it all the time, then are caught off guard when we stroke it around their defence and ultimately score?
Does it put the opposition players into a frame of mind which helps us to surprise them?
Perhaps a combination of hoof and skill works (as is evident so far). Lawro, Cresswell & Fuller providing the skill, the rest providing the hoof occasionally.
Whatever the papers say about us, i hope they continue to say the same, because it sure is effective!

Makes no difference. Managers go and watch forthcoming opponents and don't just base their game on what the press say.

I agree with Joe but I think it does make a difference that teams are scared of us physically - not because we're dirty but we're just so damn tall, and combative with it. So they're looking to deal with that first, especially at set pieces, as almost every opposing manager this season has said.

I think it's actually galvanising us all in some ways. I mean it's OK us having a go at "our own" but when others start slating us that's a completely different matter. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the West Mids press reports from the previous game have been used all week to try and gee the players up......................red rag to a Bull and all that

If so thats a mistake they make with us. All this talk about a sides style is this and that overlooks consistent principles fundamental to good football teams.
