me and my dad plan to come to watch the newcastle game. Neither of us have been for a few seasons.
There has been plenty said on these forums about fans coming out of the woodwork for 'glory games'
Will we be welcomed with open arms or should we sit and watch on the tele?

Well by my reckoning there's 23,000 seats for Stoke fans against the Geordies so I think there will be about 10,000 who don't regularly go so you'll be in good company donington. Get yourself down mate I say, I hope you enjoy it and start coming down more often.

I want a sell-out every game but it ain't going to happen. Perhaps what we should do is ban everyone who doesn't go like me on a Saturday and we'll end up with a crowd of 18,000 including 5k's worth of Magpies . Failing that we'll try and fill the fucker, I'm all for people coming who don't normally, what's the worst that happens? Extra funds for the club and maybe just maybe they'll come back.

I agree with the stupid yank comment and only someone more loyal should be allowed to go .............I mean we sell out every week, can't have glory hunters coming and taking other's seats can we?????

Post by bogus on Dec 16, 2007 22:48:09 GMT
Do you not think there's a good chance that the people who go "week in, week out" will be going already?

To be fair ff, there's plenty of chances for all the regulars and then some to get hold of tickets. Exec members Season Ticket Holders Watford ticket stub holders (I think) etc There will still be thousands left after all that so everybody who wants one won't really have any excuses.

i arent saying he shouldnt go.if there is tickets left then buy one.im just sayin i dont think he has the right to go instead of someone who is more loyal.

And you're right in what you say of course which is why there is all the procedures set in place so nobody who is a regular supporter will miss out on a game like this. Perhaps you were just a bit quick to jump on the loyal bandwagon, I'm happy for the club to take his 20 quid off him.

I prefer to look at it in terms of every extra £20 goes towards the unnecessary expense that is Vincent Pericards wages. Come on ff, you must want those stay-aways to go in their droves now?

so.....in response to phil....you wont be welcomed with open arms but your money will be. To be honest, ff. I already have my usual season ticket seat and so do all my friends around me. I presume it's the same throughout the ground. I couldnt give a flying who fills the other 10,000 seats, after the regulars, and certainly won't be going around taking a poll on how often they come to games. The more the merrier for me..........................as long as they've paid up ;D

Plus I'd sooner have them in our end than a load of Geordies. My Black n White mate reckons they are set to bring 8k with (God knows how he came up with that though!)

Remember the Everton fan on Five Live after we played them in the Cup- 'we took at least 7000' !!!!! Not sure where they sat.
Really does annoy me when folk criticise those who turn up for the odd game etc- we had some guy moaning because he had to sit next to a 5 quid ticket holder now we're due moans because we might sell out v a huge Premiership team. Hope we do- so what if they don't go every week, the more we can entice back the better.

the part timers do get on my nerves when they moan if stoke dont win comfortably, you pay 5 or 6 quid then dont expect a 4 or 5-0 win. beggars cant be choosers.
