I suspect some of them have now thought best of it not to come on the boards anymore ?
long may it continue
strange feeling today, even a goal down , I never thought we'd lose
just, the frustration of backing off at 3:1 and thats the players -not the manager
enjoy yourselves tonite chaps one and all -you've all earned it

Yeah, still here. And looking at our personal profile bits, we've all placed more posts than you have. So even though we are "antis" it looks like we show more passion for the club than you do!

Yup, still here, and totally delighted with the win today.
And on the 'anti' topic, after the Sheff U victory, I found myself warming to the thought of Pulis shoving Capt Pisshead Marvels "Wimbledon" sentiments (however true they were / are) back down his stinking throat. I honestly never thought I'd harbour such thoughts. Perhaps the one dimensional blackmailing dinoaur is growing on me afterall?

Hello Tony.
Are you talking about us Stoke suppporters who love the club not the manager?

Post by Deleted on Dec 16, 2007 0:43:15 GMT
ahhh Mark
You have to admit, no matter what your persuasion, the evidence is mounting up that, he's actually doing a very good job,
and yes, I too am a stoke city fan first, Tony Pulis confident second
and as for Peter Coates, has he spent any of summers incoming money on players yet ?
Pugh, Shawcross and Cort ALL remain loans presently dont forget
We need to sign those and an additional central midfielder and a better right back, to have a real punt at promotion (IMHO) my comments on the other thread relate to the situation never been so blatant in terms of our beckoning opportunity this season.
and Fred astaire -youll find I used to post on the old board quite a lot if indeed, you are somewhat odd enough to measure support by how much you post on an internet message board ????
oh - and I go to the games too - when I can, you see, I have been doing that since 1970 too --wooopeyfeckin doo !

Your last paragraph is an interesting insight, Tony. (pre your edit)
I would say that what this squad is crying out for is a pacey left sided player and a creative central midfield player who can contribute goals by getting beyond the forwards.
For me those requirements have ben glaring since the start of the season. I believe without that being added to the solid squad Tony has built, we will not get promotion.
The money is available to correct this defficiency and has been, it is pl;ain to those who want to see, since last season ended.
The test of any manager is the players he introduces to build a side. If we end up with more defenders and a hard worker midfielder we will have blown the golden chance in my book.
Habits of a managerial lifetime must now be broken for the good of Tony Pulis and Stoke City.
Let it be, please.

Mark.
Agree that a playmaking midfielder is a priority and a left sided player who has pace would be good too but how would you accomodate these changes.

ukyestony
ever thought of changing your username to 'smug'.
guess as a critic of TP, i would be inevitably pigeon-holed as an 'anti', i make no apologies for having developed a critical faculty in my senior years. of course on this board you have to either be a Pulislover or an anti, there are no inbetweens
great result today, long may it continue.

Signing in Tony. Wot MW said. Yes, we're doing great and let it continue. Credit to Pulis for the current position? Of course. But, we've been here before and everyone including the 'rimmers' know what is needed...a couple more players to cement the side we have into one that will be able to carry this impetus forward to the end of the season. The money is available.

I am here as well Tony,
TP IS doing a good job, but still dont have to start to like TP... Too many previous untruths for me...
I will feel the same when we get promoted also...

Ah I see Tony, the players not doing what the manager told them? I suppose the goals were all down to TP but the backing off wasn't?
Pathetic post, no point. You see you can admit the bloke is doing a good job without liking him .

ukyestony, i know you were on the old board, and i didn't say support, i said passion. As in, even though we don't like Pulis we can still come on here and be passionate about the CLUB that we love. And when i say passion, i don't mean in a homoerotic kind of way. Unless you're offering, in which case some of the lurkers may be interested

The difficulty with posts like these, of an "I told you so nature", is that when the shoe is on the other foot, like when we lose 3 on the skip at home, folk who like to position themselves as firmly behind the manager churn out the - "your not real fans, you can't wait for us to lose" line. As such this post is utterly pointless Tony et al.
Most of Tonys critics have always accepted that he's not totally rubbish, and that he will win games. Only a handful have claimed he will take us down, and they are as foolish as those who claim no other manager could keep us in this league.
I agree with Paddocks comments, that when other managers start pulling their faces about us, I find myself warming to Tony when he proceeds to firmly stick it up em.
I hope he brings in the players we clearly need ASAP, and we start to play it through the middle a little more.

He said this , he said that , he did this, how childish is that . The same people that keep posting this rhetoric would probably be found out of doing the same things if their lives were in the limelight .
Go on Tone keep up the good work and keep proving your critics wrong it adds to the delight of winning games .

Toryyesstinky - Anti what? Anti Stoke winning? anti Stoke getting promoted? or anti "told you so"/"look at me" no-marks?
If that late shot that went a whisper past the post had gone in and we'd have drawn against a team that we looked like we'd score against every time we attacked first half then I wouldn't have been happy but it didn't so I am. Go bother someone else!
