i remember hedgehog crisps
Hedgehog Flavoured Crisps : In the UK in 1981, Hedgehog Foods Ltd decided, as a joke, to produce Hedgehog flavoured crisps (potato chips). To everyone's surprise, the crisps were a huge success.
Hedgehog flavoured crisps were actually flavoured with pork fat and no hedgehogs were used in the manufacturing process. Consequently, it wasn't long before Hedgehog Foods Ltd was in court (1982), up against the Office of Fair Trading, on a charge of false advertising.
Bizarrely, a settlement was finally reached when Mr Lewis, of Hedgehog Foods, interviewed gypsies who actually did eat baked hedgehogs, to ascertain the flavour of hedgehogs. Mr Lewis then commissioned a flavourings firm to duplicate the flavour as closely as possible and changed the labels from "hedgehog flavoured" to "hedgehog flavour" and all interests were satisfied!

Someone told me Space Raiders were now 15p. Is this correct, and if so, are we going to charge up Downing Street to deliver a communal slap to the white fleshy centre of Mr Brown's big flabby Scottish cheeks? (Face, not arse). Hmmphhh!

Brannigans Lamb & Mint......
Their Ham & Mustard was pretty tasty too.
If you're talking crisp sandwiches, you can't go wrong with a thick covering of ham primula, topped with a generous swish of Salt 'n' Vinegar Squares.
And finally, come on Walkers, it's Blue for Salt 'n' Vinegar and Green for Cheese 'n' Onion. Sort it out. Now.

Still do those cheesy moments. Little triangular crisp-snacks filled with cheese flavoured sawdust.
They're part of the pub-snack trio offered by Smiths (I think), with the other two weapons in the arsenal being Scampi Fries and Bacon Fries.
The price of these items has traditionally matched the nuts and scratchings products, putting them beyond my buying power. Their premium cost is still someway behind the Peperami and 'Ploughmans Lunch In A Bag' market however.

Scratchings. Whats that all about?
I liked the cheesy moments...they are Wostists with a more cohesive structure. BUT crisps remain unbeaten.

I'm all for Scratchings, but you've got to watch your brand.
'Uncle Alberts' scratchings were generally the best I've found, but stay away from the likes of Mr Porky. And avoid 'Pork Crackle' or 'Pork Crunch' at all costs.
As a general rule, if your scratchings are in a big, poorly printed bag and look to have been made by someone down the road then they'll be ok. If they're in a small shiny professional looking bag and made by KP or someone then they'll be shite and like pigs toenails.
