As the area is one of the key reasons we are seemingly having a little bit of trouble attracting the right caliber of players to our club let's all work together to put together our very own super dooper info pack
I've added a bit to start us off - please try to use the sections provided otherwise it may develop into something of a free for all. I've also added estimated time from the Brit to help our new prem players get a feel for the area. Note: To ensure the footy players understand what a brill location we live in I'm also including places of interest within an hour's drive from the Brit.
Remember, when adding your info that this is a serious guide and all info should be geared towards that rare and precious animal "the pro footy player (and his wife/girlf)". Have fun!

I'm sure plenty of footballers would just simply live in Wilmslow if they were that bothered about the Stoke area. The commuting of half an our a day is nothing.
Hanley? Fucking hell.

Don't Pulis and Fuller both live on Wychwood? I even believe that Bruce Forsyth has a property on there too, and if Brucey can't lure players here then I think we are officially screwed Oo, forgot to add that I know Pulis commutes from Bournemouth but I've been told he may own a house on Wychwood

Agreed, the unfortunate fact is that we are deemed (wrongly in my opinion) by the outside world to be a shit hole of an area. Hence when we talk to a new player their initial reaction is probably "oh feck" not.... "I know I'll live in Cheshire...."

stoke on trent = centre of england.
good motorway links to everywhere. i know its nowt do with football but the reason we have so many warehouses being built is because of the logistical location of stoke.
most players commute nowadays anyway. as been said, just a bollocks excuse.

A few of the players have houses on there and TP and Fuller do I think. My Dad built some of them so they should be aware!

Most players will have grown up in inner cities anyway, so it's not like we're asking Paris Hilton to squat in Moss Side.

In his interview on 5 Live the other night, when asked if he thought it would be difficult to attract players to the club, Pulis said "well to be honest players are not going to come to the club because of Stoke-on-Trent are they?"
He then went on to say players would have to be financially rewarded in order to attract them.
Whether there is any truth in what he said is debatable, but I was quite shocked when he came out with it!

Well speaking as some one who left Stoke-on-trent nigh on 15 years ago - I never choose to return. When I was living back around the area for a year or so I choose Cheshire as the preferable place.
Stoke-on-Trent unfortunately isn't an attractive proposition to folks who aren't from around it and for most people once they leave they don't in general return (to live that is).
What TP said I know isn't a nice thing to hear about S-O-T but sadly it is true.
