If Federer wins this he HAS to go down as the greatest of all time. Everyone wrote him off before Wimbledon, 2 sets down in the final.....

federer is by far the best in the world and then nadal....there is a big gap between them two and the rest....think of it as the same as the Premierhip...Manure and Chelski recently have ran away with the top two spots and have been the teams to beat....

That tie break in the 4th was the best bit of tennis ive watched, absolute fantastic passing shot to save that championship point, be a shame for Fed to lose it now.

I desperately want Nadal to win, I'm really nervous, lol.
Shame it's been rained off, I can see this going on to tomorrow evening at about 45 games to 43!

I'm still backing Federer, the lad has won 12 grand slams and yet seems really genuine so you can't help but like him.
Both Nadal and Federer are brilliant ambassadors for the sport, i'm sure whoever loses will be extremely gracious in defeat.
I'm going to plump for Federer, purely because he's won Wimbledon before, Nadal got really tight on Championship point, Federer won't.

Federer isn't human, he ALWAYS pulls out a massive serve when under pressure ;D

Its hard to imagine anyone actually dropping their serve! Federer seems to closer to Nadal than the pther way round but this could go on all night! the quality is staggering

This match ACTUALLY could go on forever. They are both too good, but I feel very torn, I like both players, half of me wants fed to get his 6th wimbledon, but the other half wants raffa to get his first.

Looks like Rafa might have it, can't deny either of thems right for the win though they've both been simply immense real top class athletes

I ended up rooting for Federer but as you say they both were so so brilliant you really have to be happy for Nadal he was barely human he was that good!

stOkey I reckon you'll be hooked now!
The first time I loved watching tennis was the McEnroe Borg final which was equally as exciting as this one I think McEnroe saved about 15 chaqmpionship points!
I've been hooked on tennis especially Wimbledon ever since. Todays game really was very very special though!

Very, very good. Can't say Rafa didn't deserve it they were both top class. Wanted Federer to win it but a bloody good show nonetheless

I still think Murray will win the US though.

Post by Bick on Jul 6, 2008 20:37:48 GMT
Murray has no chance. Nobody has a chance in anything. Federer has been off form all year and still breezes past other ace players. These 2 are in a league of their own. I am really glad that Rafa won, he is awesome, nice to see that fed has a challenge on grass. It is arguable that federer is the best player ever.... but i think it is equally possible that rafa could take that title off him in the future, he is awesome on ALL SURFACES!!!.

Wow
What a thoroughly enthralling game of tennis that was
The chances Nadal had to win it was unreal, and only lost his serve once in the whole four and three quarter hours
The times he got Federer to 30 and deuce on his serve was unreal but just cuddner put him away, and I really thought he had lost his chance - a thoroughly deserving champion IMO
But hands up to RF as well - a great champion who nearly fought back from the dead, and rarely loses a tie break
Roll on next year for me

;D I'm well chuffed! Thought it would never end, even when Nadal broke Federer's serve it looked like Federer would then break Nadal's, glad he didn't though!

Nadal is like the Cristiano Ronaldo of Tennis. His talent is irritating because he's such a twat. Allow me to elaborate:
He is one of the few men's players who feel the need to grunt like a female tennis player when playing, something which is completely unnecessary and designed solely to put off his opponent. Add to this his gamesmanship and general greasiness and he's not very likeable. Damn good player, though.
