Another let down when the Sky cameras have been there. Lets hope its not like that when the BBC and the whole country are watching us against Newcastle. I was down at luton today and a youth down there commented on how dull the game was yesterday, is it any wonder that people are staying away when thats what they have to watch on the telly, its hardly a good advert for entertainment is it?

i watched the game on sky and after a creditable draw with some good performances, all the sky pundits could say was how boring stokes style of play was. Apart from Neil Warnock, who got in a few good words about TP

Whoever picked that game for sky knew what kind of match it was likely to be ie 2 big strong physical teams so they knew it wasnt going to be a classic, sky pundits like the two i have mentioned make me sick they havent got a clue.In an ideal world everybody would play fast flowing football but it just doesnt work like that unless your arsenal.

the people who hate pulis thought it was boring, if it was boring we would of got booed off, you should get the game instead of watching it on tele anyways.

We have seen worse yes, but come on, it was boring as fook, id rather rake my eyes out than watch that again. I sit here typing with a neck brace on, when we win you can't complain, but thats 90 minutes of my life im never getting back !!!!! If people were entertained by that then fair enough, i have my opinion and i thought it was......well.....not very good. And neither did the rest of the country judging by the newspaper reports.

Parkerson like you say each to their own opinion but that game yesterday compared to Burnley the other week was fookin brilliant and yes i have watched it again after recording it yesterday and come to the conclusion that sky pundits do not like Stoke.

We had an understrength side and were unlucky not to beat the league leaders. Watford play hoofball too, although admittedly they have useful wingers in MacAnuff and Smith (both of whom we kept quiet).
It wasn't a great game, but it was a good performance.

SneydGreenStokie, im not complaining about the fact we are 5th or the fact we took a point of the league leaders ( how they are im not too sure), im over the phucking moon. My argument is that yesterday was not entertaining in the slightest the ball was never grounded for more than a minute and how anyone can "enjoy" watching the ball lumped up the field by both teams is beyond me ,

I went and I watched the game on tele later. I must say that leaving the Brit I was quite proud of Stoke and felt we played well given the circumstances and opposition.
To play the top team and know we should have won is very encouraging, particularly on the back of a good run.
When I watched the game later it was a bit dull and to be honest, Birtles is a nob criticising the players all the time (like he was world class when he was a striker at the sht).
It just made me think that you cant get the same perspective from the armchair that you get from seeing a live game and its unfair to start criticising when you aint been to the game.
Just read the match report from Sheff U in the Oatcake. A glowing report about Stokes efforts yet if you listen to the negative tormentors of Tone you would think every game is dross.
Every game is different and the team gave their all yesterday. So give em some credit for that

I hate Pulis and i wasn't bored by the match. I found it to be quite an entertaining spectacle compared to every other home game this season.
Well done Tone.
Don't believe i typed that (hangs head in shame and returns to the darkside)

Mart/Parkerson - Did you go to the QPR & Norwich games? If so, you would have seen some good football that was effective too.
Yesterday, we played the top team at the moment, and they played more hoofball than stoke. The fact that that was their style of play did not help the situation. I for one thought we played well and should have won the game. Some people seem to moan for the sake of it.

mart_72 its not enough that you go to the games. you loyal fans need to be advocates for the Stoke city, to encourage your mates to come.
Coates and pulis are getting things sorted, but they need to be backed by the fans, 3 million a year loss is not sustainable.
Your pulis brand off football is just the sort that launched us (WBA)from a sh1t no hope outfit into a rich yo yo team. But you need more quality on the park to make it work . So you need to give PC the confidence to spend more by turning out, be positive get people along.
Back your manager.
WBA forever

I can only repeat what I said yesterday. I'm not a fan of long ball, and the game was patchy in parts, but I quite enjoyed the game and the atmosphere at the ground, particularly the last 10 minutes when Stoke were a couple of Fuller finishes away from taking the points. It wasn't the prettiest of games, but it wasn't the poorest I've seen by a good stretch.

Im sorry but Watford, top of the league or not, were a poor one dimensional side much like ourselves in a way, but we haven't spent the millions they have ! We both canceled each other out by hoofing the ball upfield, they had no real chances as they're only form of attack was putting balls in the box which we dealt with easily. Im not to sure if was proud of that, but then again opinions differ.
I wouldn't mind the hoofing that much ( well yes i would ) but half of the aimless punts upfield are to nobody, i think we hoof it sometimes just for the sake of hoofing it.

It seemed to me Watford came for the draw. It was a fair result I suppose. Mind you if they are top and we contained them wioth Shawcy missing theres not much in this division to fear.

At half time on radio 5 they described our game as "hideous" a bit of a strong word bit as I didn't see it I can't comment on the game. I spent most of Sunday morning boffing at the white altar, pesky kids passing their germs about !!

I'm certainly not a Pulis lover but I've seen far, far worse than that. I actually enjoyed many parts of the game and saw it as a battle between two very equal sides. It was never going to be pretty. We created far more chances than Watford did and I thought we deserved to win it.
