Here's a question to occupy all Oatcakers over a certain age (are there any other type anyway ? A) Which Anderson would you pick to have spent the last 30 years with ? B) Which would you pick to take out for dinner this week ? Your choices are - Pamela, Gillian, Viv and James.

Pamela for sure , many reasons and a fascinating career and life story
You have missed Jon as a choice as the chance to wax lyrical about Olias of Sunhillow and Topographic Oceans with him while I'm sat with Pamela would be an unbeatable option 😂

Some considerations... 30 years ago Pamela (now 58) was in Baywatch and having her on your arm would have made you the envy of half the population. You would have had to get her before Tommy Lee of course, or risked a serious beating. She' been married 5 times and is a big supporter of Assange, so plenty to talk about over dinner. Her acting career has picked up since 2020 and she looks good in her new thing with Liam Neilson. 30 years ago Gillian (56) was in the X-files, before it became a cult hit, before that she was waitress. She's Canadian with an affinity for the UK, an OBE, and looks and acts great in everything she does. I imagine those two are the main candidates for 30 years, but im not ruling anything out given some of the posters on here nb) James was a schoolboy in 1995 and Viv was playing his last pro matches for Middleborough...

That is a fact. Not all Yes fans are virgins but those of us who aren't managed to keep it quiet.

Well I have and in fact at the end of the triple album when I was still doing my thang she said actually it would be appropriate to put on Big Ten Inch Record by Aerosmith now....! And then I woke up 😂😂😂

(Actually I think she's American, but was brought up partly in the UK, and works a lot here. She was on "This Cultural Life" recently on R4, fascinating woman). You also missed Clive, who I think it's fair to say divides opinion, but I imagine a very interesting dinner companion.

You can have Clive if you like, but apparently he supports Arsenal, he even lives in Highbury - maybe because he can't bare not to be close to them. So that's massive red line for me. I'd rather spend an evening in the dentists than with a smug gooner. So I'll be elsewhere, hopefully with Gillian.

You also missed Wes. Again I think his films divide opinion. Really couldn't be doing with the Royal Tenenbaums, but enjoyed Asteroid City. Interesting bloke, however.

What about Sylvia Anderson of Thunderbirds fame. She was the voice of Lady penelope and the puppet was modeled on her.Had a real thing for her as a kid .My sister got me her pink six weel Dinky Rolls Royce car for Xmas from the wonderful Peppers toy store in Hanley. It would be worth a fortune now and i still love her voice.

I'd imagine Angry Anderson of Rose Tattoo might have a few good after dinner stories. If we could leave it a week or so we could plan our dinner date around our shared birthday.

Also had that crush. And it extended to Venus (Fireball XL5), Marina and Atlanta (Stingray). Also to Lois (Family Guy). Don't get me started on Dora (Follyfoot).

Sorry to drag you back to my prog rock fantasy wonderland but Ian's surely got to be there somewhere. After I've pleasured Pamela in the sea to Jon's Topographic Oceans double album it would surely be nice to grow a beard ,dress like a tramp and stand on one leg playing a flute and see whether I'd need an Aqualung after all that underwater exertion.. Thick As A Brick i certainly am

Lynn -
She wouldn't be very interesting at dinner. Although admittedly a cheap option as she died in 2015.

Some of you may be missing the nuance of this -the four selections were carefully chosen to give an insight into your personality via your choices. So far I've deduced (or confirmed) that - Cobham is a mans man, though no spring chicken Badger has excellent taste in women Telford is a massive muso with eclectic but occasionally dodgy taste CB is has issues with decisions and sexuality, if only for comic effect Gawa is obtuse Str8 may not be. oh, and none of you were woke enough to feel you had to choose Viv - where's Hudson ? Interestingly nobody has mentioned Gary the scottish darts player, even though I suspect we all look more like him than the four options.
