The one that springs to mind is when we played Arsenal in the 90s in the cup and Justin Whittle (of all people) had Ian Wright in his back pocket.
What other notable back pocketers have there been?

Shawcross had loads in the Prem against some of the world's best strikers. Diego Costa springs to mind, was it the smelly armpit game
Huth vs Suárez as well, although think he may have got the better of him once or twice

Bizarrely Geoff Cameron v Lukaku against Everton then repeated the trick in the World Cup Geoff was one of the best tacklers I've seen in the red and white. He had this knack of perfect timing. He was also one of the worst passers of a football i've ever seen. His outside of the boot attempts were laughable.

Great athlete and good at the physical side but probably didn’t play much football as a young child so lacking technical skills.

Every single pass was the outside of his foot.

Erik Pieters on Salah the year we went down Nice to see this highlighted because Erik was imperious that day and this performance gets lost in the sea of shit that engulfed us at the time.

Wilko on Ronaldo (until his red card that is!) Ronaldo was so frustrated that he could have been red carded himself for kicking Wilko, but for the usual big club/big player bias

Gary Neville had the referee in his back pocket vs. Etherington.
And he and Ferguson had a good laugh about it when he was subbed

Wilko vs Ronaldo is just about the worst example I can imagine. It could have been a performance for the ages, a snarling display of aggression and control, but he brainlessly lost it and got himself sent off. And we subsequently lost the game. Ronaldo did him up like a kipper and we missed out on an unlikely point because of it.

I recall Muniesa bossing Andy Carroll, leaping above him on a few occasions and generally giving him nothing.

So pleased a couple of people remembered the Salah 'in pocketness'. My problem was I couldn't remember who it was! Eric was unbeatable that day.
