Congleton 0-0 Newcastle town yesterday, decent crowd, Newcastle were probably the better team on the day, Congleton ground not changed much since I was last there, I've played on that pitch in a cup final and it was no better yesterday than 30 years ago.

Since Covid I've done loads of different non-league grounds and I love it, if ever I stopped watching Stoke it's what I would do weekly. When the kids are a bit older I'm looking forward to a bit of ground hopping in Scotland, and the likes of Belgium/Holland/Germany..... At the risk of getting shouted at, I could stop Stoke and do hopping forever. There’s always something interesting nearby, always somewhere to revisit, and always a great long trip to enjoy. Scotland in particular is somewhere I love to go, the football is poorer but it’s just a better day out. And the result doesn’t ruin your weekend.

Moved to Nottingham & the team local to myself is Basford Fc & would you believe it...only Martin Carruthers is manager! Good old Blyth Spartans and Leek Town sit in the same league (Northern Premier 7th tier) Canny wait to have a right gander

Curl played in defence, and Porter and Shenton who putting it bluntly were rubbish, McGuiness came on when they went off….. Shenton has had 1 good game all season, Porter flatters to deceive, Curl is a decent defender but I am not sure where his best position is and Leek will most definitely be relegated! Just not enough fire power unfortunately! I am not sure how long the manager has got but fingers crossed it's not too long! Too many games with square pegs in round holes and far too many excuses...these are his players and to be quite frank it's been very very poor all season and that's me being VERY polite! It's been men against boys all season, and the team has lost all of its players and identity. At any level of football, you cannot sell 50+ goals and not replace that kind of firepower and expect to progress. What I don't understand is that we've been weak up front all season and have gone from playing football last season to hoofing it to weaker, smaller players this season. Tim Grice had to be one of the first names on the teamsheet for pyhsicality in both boxes alone, yet he was sold recently. The team is unrecognisable from last season and would struggle in the league below, and the manager has totally refurbished the squad with inferior players, who are worse technically and physically. We have no leaders, having sold the likes of Harrison, Grocott, Keenan, Stevenson etc And he's also moved Buckley - easily the best player - over to the other side of the pitch where he is nowhere near as effective. Something just doesn't seem right, and the way we are set up and play is miles from what we did last season. Unless new players are brought in, it will be a long season.

I have been saying pretty much the same for the last month or two, selling Grice and lumping balls upto the smallest striker in this league adds to that playing one of the best right backs in this league on the left to be rinsed and turned inside out game after game is madness! This season is bringing back memories of the pulis years... I actually don't think he is a very good manager, he just got lucky with a backbone of a side that would walk the NPLW league time after time, and the amount of times last season we played poorly but Stevo and Carr dragged them out the Shit was far too often!

Really not sure mate as no longer work there. Noone can compete with Hednesford around this area when it comes to budget - a reported £18K a week!!!!! We've lost 3 key players to them, but we have replaced men with kids on a physical level. We don't concede many, but hardly score any, and teams know they don't have to do too much to beat us.
I'd be ok with that if we were trying to play football, but we haven't. I've only seen 4 games this season, but we've been very poor and lightweight.

That sums up exactly how they were at Ashton, lightweight and utterly toothless in the final third. Ashton were poor but as soon as they went one up Leek hardly laid a glove on them.....
