Why does Pudsey Bear wear a bandage over one eye?
So he only sees half of what goes on at the BBC

It's been going for, what, 30-odd years but despite the millions raised they still can't afford to pay for that bear to have an eye operation?
Somethings not right.

It's based on an original Rolf Harris illustration I believe.
If you buy the stuffed toy it's designed to turn the other cheek to any obvious fiddlery that may be ongoing.
I believe you can also get a version with a dog collar and a Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council lanyard too.

The only reason he has that eye patch is because Wogan shanked him back in the day over an unpaid drugs debt. Pudsey fucked around and found out. Wogan was an absolute fucking nightmare who would sniff anything he could put his nose to and enjoyed violence twice as much. Sadly missed.

Pudsey Bear wears a patch over his eye as a symbol to raise awareness for children in need and the challenges they face. The patch signifies support and solidarity with children who might be going through tough times or who have disabilities and is a reminder of the charity's mission to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.

That's actually an old John Richardson joke when the BBC scandals were coming out.

It's obviously for a good cause, providing the money gets to go to the right places, but it's one of the worst nights TV of the whole year.

Children in Need really bugs me - pretty much every project or situation they show immediately makes me wonder what the fuck our taxes are actually paying for it not stuff like this!

First £6.5m raised goes to running the charity apparently 🙄 It has raised over £1bn since it began in 1980. It won’t have always cost £6.5m a year to run the charity, but let’s say it has. That is £286m, and over £714m for good causes. A wonderful thing. However, the charity says for every £1 donated a minimum of 95p goes to good causes. Whichever is right, your stat or the charity, it is a brilliant charity and a great cause.

A tax rise to cover the annual cost of funding this I'd agree to.

Always remember it being about kids in Africa and slowly of the years it's become about kids in Sunderland and Stoke.

Or millionaire farmers. Or pensions. Or capital. Or working people.

Or millionaire farmers. Or pensions. Or capital. Or working people. It isn't the tax most ordinary people object to, it's the ineptitude of those charged with investing it in our services. And that applies equally to decisions made by any political party.
