He should come out and own the situation - I don't think many football fans would be too upset if he did.
"Yeah, I was wasted but Klopp had really fucked me off at the weekend - and I let my emotions get the best of me through frustration. I haven't let this dictate my decisions moving forward.." etc etc
Everyone gets annoyed in life and let's out their frustrations when they've had a few jars.
No doubt the Liverpool fans will milk this for every fucking penny it's worth though.

I say enjoy the drama of subjective humans making decisions because in 10 years VAR will be an AI ref telling the referee there has been a foul, play on his AI glasses/smart watch the incident and what action to take
Will this level of fairness enhance the game or ruin? Maybe both

He’d have a lot more support if he did and wouldn’t get nearly as much a flack off the fans as he will if he doesn't. Does that make sense?🤔

To be fair I've heard a couple of Liverpool fans on Talksport & one gave a very balanced opinion & was definitely of the opinion it was silly criticising on camera, he shouldn't have referenced the 🇩🇪 bit in the way he did, but said its basically someone describing a bad day at the office and he doesn't deserve the sack for it.

Possibly because I'm sure that it was Fellaini for Everton, not N'Zonzi for Blackburn!

Oh come on.
To referee matches, you first and foremost have to have credibility and (at least an impression of) integrity.
It is now absolutely impossible for Coote to ever demonstrate this.
Imagine if he gave a dodgy decision against us, which cost us the game, we'd demand that he never referee us again, as would West Brom and Barnsley and Huddersfield and Charlton etc. etc. etc and it would be now impossible for the authorities to ever back him against those appeals.
That's before you even get on to all the Cocaine chants he's going to face from the crowd at every ground he rucks up at from now on. If a player has a decision awarded against him and as he runs away, he puts his hand to his nose and closes one of his nostrils, is Coote then going to have enough of a credible reputation to be able to book him? Of course not.
He will have absolutely no authority over the players he's refereeing.
Quite literally, he's 'blown' his career.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one Paul - I don't think a ref should be held to a higher standard than any other profession. People do and say dumb shit all the time when they're pissed up, it should be a slap on the wrist and of course an investigation into to make sure he's not done any dodgy shit - but assuming he hasn't, then no harm done really. The bloke who's recorded it and sat on it for a few years has been a right knob with this though.

Unconscious Bias:
**Unconscious biases are social stereotypes about certain groups of people that individuals form outside their own conscious awareness. Everyone holds unconscious beliefs about various social and identity groups, and these biases stem from one's tendency to organize social worlds by categorizing**
We all have unconscious bias's like we all hold prejudices. It's when it transfers to discrimination & the bias or prejudice is acted upon does it ever become an issue or problem.
If proved that Coote has let his subconscious beliefs get in the way of his decision making as a professional referee at any point in his career then that's a different ball game to merely expressing his views in what was at the time a private environment.
As it stands it's embarrassing and does raise a few questions but let's not portray him as a veteran career criminal who can't be trusted to perform his job. To accuse him of any thing else without solid evidence is merely casting an unconscious bias against him.

And if the video was taken and then came out a week later just to make him look a twat then I don’t think it’s a career ending issue. However, it’s been sat on for two years. Why? What’s the bloke who recorded it got out of that? Anything, nothing? I’m not buying the not remembering it being recorded one bit. And if we assume he did remember it the first thing he should have done is told the authorities because he’s opened himself up to blackmail.

If it had been the other way around and a manager had said that about a referee I don’t think he’d be losing his job, it might be in the news for a few days but it’d soon be forgotten.

Sounding like there's more releases coming out on Cootes off field behaviour & antics.
Someone's definitely got it in for him in a massive way to be sliding these releases out to the press.
The next installment of video that I've just witnessed if proven to be Coote will definitely signal the end of his career.. Especially as believed to be from 2024!

Some snakes about, this seems like it’s from a different source so they’ve probably gone around to anyone that knows him trying to get something about him.

Aside from tonight's revelations he's basically gobbed off in a private setting that years later has been made public. Who hasn't had a whinge and moan about work colleagues/bosses etc in front of their mates? Being filmed doing it is quite bizarre & is what's led to his downfall, but it's been undisclosed for 4yrs so if someone hadn't leaked it out in this way no-one would be none the wiser.

I find it all a bit odd. Referee's get dogs abuse from everyone including us. They get stadiums full of vehemently angry people chanting they're a w****r, managers slag them off in public & question their abilities & have to put up with a hell of a lot. Of course they're to have negative feelings towards certain people that've had a massive go at them when they believe they've done nothing wrong. There's a few photo's going around online of Klopp getting right up in his face & screaming at him. If all he's said is he thinks 1 manager is an arrogant **** & a club are s***e then yes it's stupid but so what? Everyone can have an opinion & still do their job professionally. If you think all referees have complete neutrality about every individual & club then you're deluded. But they do the job to the best of their ability you hope & remain professional & are judged on the results they produce by whatever criteria they have.
It seems a bit rich seeing people calling for him to be sacked when the ref's put up with so much abuse & when one of them is stitched up by his personal views being aired publicly we should just grow up & accept it. Also he's clearly off his face on something so his views should be taken with a pinch of salt.
