I'm still around guys. But the problems in the NHS mean I have been waiting over 2 years so far for an operation to reduce the size of my prostate. Life is difficult and often painful but, hopefully, I am nearing the front of the queue and will get the op either before or soon after Christmas and will then be back to normal. One big problem is that I need to spend hours a day catching up on the sleep I am not gwtting at night. Thanks for the kind words, it is nice to be missed.

Well, you lucky bugger to have missed live the last two years of mostly turgid nondescript rubbish we’ve had to endure. No doubt you’ll have been watching the games on a dodgy stick or maybe even by more legal avenues. Anyway, get well soon mate.

Funnily enough I've just rattled up and down Sticks Pass this morning. As OS would say, I doffed my cap to Fornside on my way past.

It is a fairly simple operation, Mick. It is only the NHS waiting list which is delaying it. As soon as I reach the front of the queue my problems should be over quickly. Quite how any government has managed to let the NHS get so far behind with its work, annoys me most of all.

I was in the queue for 2 years as well, but had mine done in Jan - wonderful result, can now last a whole half without running off for a pee!!! It will be worth it when it is done, but you are a bit tender for a week or two Its just an age thing

One of the posters who adds genuine class and decency to the board. With a healthy dose of knowledge and humour.
Hope you’re back to normal and back on here soon.
Good luck with the op.

A couple of things, get your wallet out you tight wad and go private, you can't take it with you and all those stashed kilos of confiscated cocaine you have from your days working in customs should now be cashed in to pay for it. Other than that get some sprightly young dolly bird with delicate hands to relieve it using the digital method. Hope you get sorted soon. Gouranga.

There are, unsurprisingly, also some delays in private treatment and I am close emough to the front of the queue to get the op on the NHS quicker than by going private. Sometime before or after Christmas I should be sorted.

Hope the op goes well when you finally have it. I know I’m about the same age as you John, and had the same op (turp?) about 15 years ago. At the time I only had to wait a few weeks before getting it done. It’s a scandal having to wait so long for it these days. But I can assure you it’ll be worth the wait- the beneficial effect on your everyday life is immense! Good luck and best wishes.
