Some of Nello's church friends are organising an evening in his honour. It's at the Crown Wharf pub in Stone from 7pm on November 23rd. £15 for the evening including a pie, peas and mash/chips meal or vegetarian option. Honoured guests include Nick Gleaves (from the film) and his wife actress Lesley Sharp; Michael Hugo, Suzanne Ahmet and Jerone Reid (from the cast of the play). There are hoping Lou will attend and are approaching ex-players. Fundraising for the Macari centre. There will be a Q & A with myself, Nello and some of the guests. Unfortunately it clashes with the game at QPR, so those of you going to Loftus Road might have to hitch a lift in the Coates' helicopter if you want some pie It's more than my life's worth to go to QPR unfortunately (I'd never hear the last of it) If you would like to go, PM your contact details to me and I will pass them on to John Kelly who is organising it and needs to know who's going.

Hope you have a decent night Malcolm. Wrights pies, out of interest? It's a Joules pub so imagine it'll be steak and ale made with Slumbering Monk.

Just find them pretty uncomfortable. They have okay seating in the Glebe but thats the only one. And as you say they sell their own stuff which is dire

The Crown Wharf is too big to be a pub, it’s a Super-Pub.
The Ministry of Beer.
But to be fair the pies are good, pies are good, they’re Ebenezer Good.
