He’s reffing the Plymouth v Portsmouth game on the box now Yeah, watched that as well. It's noticeable when you are not invested in the game how forgiving you are towards many decisions. The home crowd were up in arms over a few decisions he made that I thought were perfectly OK. I'm sure they would have gone home saying what a crap ref he was, whereas in reality he was alright. The goal should have been ruled out for a foul though. I'm sure he will be back to 'normal' on Saturday! |

According to official club website a change of ref now the 4th official:
Will Finnie who is new to the EFL and never reffed us before. Given 6 penalties in his 13 games. Thus for the 2nd time James Bell has been replaced for a Stoke game.
I have knocked Andy Davies (Ref in Blackburn game) in the past but credit were it is due tried to let the game flow and and reffed both teams evenly, it did help we won.

Every team in the league thinks there’s some sort of conspiracy with refereeing but there’s isn’t. The standard of refereeing is fairly poor, but it’s been like that for literal decades. We’re absolutely not special and we never have been. As long as our players on the pitch do their job the referee is more or less irrelevant. |

Whoever the ref is, he should be thoroughly ashamed after possibly the worst decision ever. Clearest penalty you will ever see and both the clown of a ref and pathetic liner both missed it. Disgraceful and also led to a booking for Burger, which now means a ban. Referee you have had a mare. Hang your head in shame.

Was prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt on the non-penalty until I’d seen a replay as the box was crowded and thought he might not be able to see it.
Replayed showed he couldn’t have had a better view. How the fuck do you see that and not give a penalty (and a red card for denial of a clear goal scoring opportunity)?
