Anyone remember this pub? It was a bit of a rough one as far as I can remember but had a great atmosphere

Remember it well. Like any pub back in the day. The locals knew the locals and if you were an outsider you usually got the stares.

I only went the once just to see it - I got 'the stares'.

Absolutely my local as I lived across the road from it. Typical Bass house & always remember the Off Sales as a young un, going across for a bottle to be filled with some of Bass finest for my fathers consumption. The Saturday nights could be a bit raucous but on Heathcote Rd further along you hit 70s/80s pub gold. If you know…..you know 😉

Yes I used to live on Foley Rd opposite and would go in and play pool in the front as a youngster, pretty sure I had my first pint in there aged 15

When I was young I played in a Lads & Dads League for The Red House. I was only about twelve so I had no idea which pub it was affiliated to. My main memory, apart from discovering that a tapped ankle on a February morning is very painful, was the kit: we played in Arsenal style tops with dark blue shorts; one day, the wash mixed them up and we were transformed from Arsenal into Aston Villa overnight.

Went a few away days on the coaches. Was it Tony who run them?
Always a good laugh in there, even if it was 7am in the morning forcing pints down my neck.
