I listened to the whole RS commentary. Cranny was OK and he was honest about his summary. What's pi**ing me off is Sohail's commentary... or lack of it. He mumbles on about anything except what's going on on the pitch. I wish I had a stopwatch. I'm pretty sure his commentary on the actual goings on during the last two games wouldn't add up to 25% of the action. I got to the point where I was shouting at the wireless, "F**k off!" as he kept repeating the phrase... "Coming to you on all frequencies" Etc. He really is the worst radio commentator I've ever heard. OS. good job there's no time added on to his commentary!

I think the problem is that all the commentators are pessimistic so there is no counter balance. If I was in charge of reporting Stoke City matches or any ones matches really I'd set it up like this. 1 person who reports all the action of the game if the ball is in play they do nothing but describe the action. 1 person being positive about Stoke City's play and just generally mentioning positive stuff about the club. And another person being negative about whats going on, where they can improve that kinda thing. At least then you've got all angles covered and listeners are getting a wider view of everything. what about when your team are utter shit, the oppo arent much different and the whole match is so dire there's nothing to report on? Maybe this is where sohail's general waffle comes in handy?

I don't blame Cranson, I blame the person who signed off on employing him to be a commentator. That person needs to be dismissed, no excuses even if they are deaf.

I don’t often listen to Radio Stoke commentary as I’m at the game, but I think it’s sad to read comments like the OP’s, where ex-players are deemed ‘twats’ and such, because they’ve said something on the radio that they disagree with or have displayed lacklustre punditry. Exactly. There’s only one twat on this thread and it isn’t cranson You're going to have to narrow it down.

I'm just happy for the summariser to tell it as they see it, give us praise when we deserve it and criticise when we don't. I don't need anything sugar coating. It does amuse me that on a forum which can occasionally get quite negative, that people are unhappy that the commentator is too negative.

Only criticism I’ve got of cranson was seeing him in stone with wolves gear on, bought a tear to my eye. He was/ is an academy coach there I believe, he used to do that alongside coaching the mens sides at Staffs Uni. Played under him for a couple of years, bit of a grumpy git but genuinely a really nice guy with a great sense of humour. Always speaks highly of the club and genuinely cares - his punditry can be a little dry at times but it's only because he's offering a neutral perspective. He's not one of those who'll just blindly praise something if it's crap, tends to call it as he sees it which I personally prefer. All around top bloke
