It was a real class finish. I really like him and would love to see him start in the league games. Tall, good on the ball, scores Ballon D’or contenders. What’s not to like? If the manager doesn’t start him against Derby he’s a fool Maybe controversial but what about him as the defensive midfielder. Certainly got an imposing presence and can play and tackle.

Alright smart ass 😛 And if it was Phillip it would be Phillip’s goal. But he’s Phillips so I could have said Phillips’ goal but instead I think Phillips Goal as in The Phillips Goal is grammatically acceptable. Discuss. View AttachmentWhen using a plural noun, the apostrophe goes after the s. For example: “The squirrels’ nuts. But Phillips isn’t a plural noun so the correct use of an apostrophe in this instance would be "Phillips's goal." I did ask I suppose. And I am a grammar fan (within reason). But on this occasion, I’m sure you’ll forgive me if I respond by saying…. “You can stick you’re apostrophe up you’re arse!” PS yes they were intentional ❤️

I believe both forms are acceptable when the word ends in an S. personally I think Phillips’ is more elegant Why, thank you. I always aspire to elegance. PS note my spectacular use of a comma. Without the comma it becomes a question. As I’m sure a fellow grammar geek, like yourself, will note.

The pronunciation sounds better as well without the the extra S. Otherwise it becomes Phillipsees.

I'm not sure Spurs would want us to do that and may recall him if it happened.

Spurs could call him and pay his wages in their reserves even though he's nowhere near their first team squad. His wages are payed by us. He plays where he is told to play, not where Spurs would like him to play

Or any other teams for that matter? Spurs will be probably be paying his wages. That is in part what the loan fee covers.

Given our other centre halves are absolutely crap, i'd advise playing him there.

Interesting However he loves defending one on one, he's excellent at CB given his age
