Good effort tonight. But we are crying out for a stronger spine and to play with more positivity. Not sure we have the man in charge to achieve that. Let’s go again on Saturday

1) Dixon should have had a free kick for a blatant shirt pull but he gives them a penalty 2) Manhoef first penalty claim wasn't as clear cut but think that it was still a penalty 3) Koumas should have had a penalty 4) Manhoef should have had a penalty. During the goal line chance, the Southampton defender was pushing him in the back and Ramsdale cleaned him out 5) Southampton must have kicked the ball away 5 times and not one was punished 6) every single 50/50 was given to them A proper cunt of a ref, I hope both sides of his pillow are warm tonight!!! I thought the ref wasn’t too bad really Soft penalty against us & the player who wiped out Junior got away Scot free, I don’t see those as difficult decisions & he got them wrong imo

Player was all over him. And as was said Ramsdale went through him. If he doesn't then maybe Manhoef beats the defender to it for a tap in. But overall thought the ref was okay.

Stoke B team did well for small spells… don’t get some of the hate. Rather win Saturday then last night, only get thrashed in the next round anyway so what’s that do for confidence.
This guy needs a couple of window to bring decent defensive players in and improve our spine of the team.
Seko and Philips deserve a start Saturday. Onto the next one

A good effort by the fans not so good by the team but we took two of our four chances and were in it to the end. Shame we could not hold on for penalties. IMO Bonham was at fault for two of the goals. We showed very little aggression and no willingness to get stuck in. We are a very weak shower.

We’ve really got to stop giving away easy goals. Each of the three is a poor moment from us which makes the job for the opposition easier. Phillips loses his man on the first, Dixon gets old-manned on the second, and Koumas is lazy getting out on the third. I don’t want to dig those players out specifically, because we can go through loads of goals conceded this season and probably find a different player at fault - it’s a collective thing.
Seko looked neat and tidy, second-half particularly. Interesting thing with Seko for me is that he probably frees Sol to play a bit higher which to my mind really suits then: Seko as an anchor collecting off the defenders; Burger playing as a ball winner high up, and Moran / Sol as a box-to-box threat, more creative in the final third.
On the positive side of things, great character to bounce back and we looked really threatening in the closing stages against a side a division above us who played a side closer to full strength. I’m sure the youngsters and newbies will have gained a lot from it. Feared the worst at 2-0 but what transpired was much more positive than that. For once, it felt like we were the team who benefitted from the timing of goals to affect the momentum of the game.

Maybe last night was a blessing going out, with all the big guns left in i think there might have been a future hammering on the cards,, so let southampton have one instead of us,,

Just needed to stand him up and jockey rather than try to get it back right away. It was sneaky by the Southampton man, he pulled him on the refs blindside and went down softly, but Dixon played into his hands too IMO.

Not as embarrassing as I feared, but in the cold light of day Southampton are a team headed for the Championship, and I struggled to see ( especially the first 44 minutes) what we were trying to do. There is some talent there, Philips, Dixon, Seko and Sidibe- Seko has to be given a chance at Thompson’s expense. Pelach doesn’t seem to know how he wants to play- standing off as we did in the first 44 minutes even against Derby, could leave a massive mountain to climb. His approach does worry me, but he’s the one paid to achieve- so here’s hoping that he does!

Don't you ever post anything positive? We were darn unlucky Unlucky with million at the end but we lost it in the first half with the set up and negativity. At 2 v 2 I think we’d had 2 shots. Check the stats What a whining fanny you are. Wakefield whinger..

That penalty was a joke, Dixon gets fouled twice and then the 'penalty' challenge goes in, that's less of a foul.
