Beginning to look like relegation and throwing millions at promotion a la Brum might be the way to go.
Obviously though, it being Stoke:
A) financial rules would be changed to make it illegal to spend excessively.
And/Or
B) the Coates family would sell up and we’d be taken over by a dodgy consortium with big promises and no cash
We’re fucked aren’t we?

As a Stoke fan I have NEVER said that the Coates family should sell up but I'm now starting to wonder if this would now be a good idea. I've got zero faith in John, or his ability to make credible decisions.

It would be an unmitigated disaster. I’ve seen us condemned to that ale house league twice too often already.

Quite a few I have heard muttering this.. Why just why would we want to be in the dog and duck league again? As said above an unmitigated disaster we would spend millions and get nowhere.. shakes head.😞

There are examples of teams coming back into the Championship a lot stronger after a spell in League One ie Ipswich,Sunderland,Derby(to an extent) but surely no one can see relegation as an answer to the current problems 🤷♂️

The thought of John Coates throwing millions at the wall in League 1 for another desperate scramble in hoping that something sticks is frightening.
The bloke cannot be trusted it's a simple as that.
Being a fan of the club i.e offering free coaches means nothing ultimately if fans stop showing to games.
I'm not going to say they should sell up, but if they did, i'm past the point of caring.

The difference with Birmingham is they’ve got a bigger momentum behind them with the Tom Brady connection and the commercial opportunities that offers for hangers-on.
We, by comparison, have a leadership vacuum and no one gives a toss about us.

Ah yes, just like the “reset” when we got relegated from the Premier League?
That worked out well. No thanks.

Whatever we did, go down or stay up…..the club is screwed. We would mess things up if we stayed up or went down. I just really don’t know what the answer is, but it certainly isn’t one with an upwards trajectory. Who would’ve thought Sunderland would be where they are now compared to where we were comparatively on our relegation. Or Derby watching them get relegated. The club is a shit show from top to bottom.

I know relegation would be shit. But hard to imagine it being much shitter than the last few seasons.
Actually winning a few games would be nice.
But yes I know it’s defeatist talk. It’s just becoming increasingly difficult to be optimistic or even find cause for optimism.
Toxic on the pitch. Off the pitch. And judging from the rumours of the Campbell chants the toxicity is taking root in the stands.
It really is fucking grim.

Yeah, let's have a reset in League 1.
Then, a few years after that, we can have another reset in League 2.
Then another in the National League.
With any luck, we can reset the club right out of existence.
(The only reset this club requires is the removal of the Coates Family before the damage they're doing through sheer incompetence becomes insurmountable).

The club is fucking rotten from top to bottom and lead by a man who’ll listen to the bullshit of whatever hanger on mate he’s listening to at that moment in time. From his bet365 clan appointing Jones to walters and Pelach this has simply got to stop. We need experienced football men who’ve achieved positive results with clubs in this division right now, not the latest Johnny come lately master tactician or pep wannabe who’s mates with the current captain, who’s mates with dof. Walters is not acting as a dof. He’s been given the keys to the kingdom. The Coates family too have lost the fucking plot, with one act of desperation after another, Pelach being the latest one. We assembled a squad that would struggle to get out of league one. I really do believe it’s that poor. I’ve said this previously, then we looked like turning a corner- but bar johannsson not a single summer signing has improved us. Not one. Over and over again we replace average players/ loan players with more of the same. It’s just unfathomable! For example being in cannon who neeeda a foil- the signing an injury prone foil with no backup is rank bad management. Shocking. Just as shocking as buying no mark unproven Japanese players who don’t know the league. Or am I jury prone Irish youngster who ur amature manager mate had on loan thought was decent. Really postive central midfield options to replace experienced players eh? Neglecting the right back position, signing one has been centre back ( who’s his ducking mate) when we couldn’t Defend for shit .. the list goes on and on. Appalling from top to bottom. It’s about time we showed the club as a collective fanbase we’re all fed up. Stop going. Turn our backs. Protest. But the f as are as complicit as the Coates family in the malaise these days, no passion anywhere. The clubs rotten to the core. We ain’t happy clapping our way out of this.

It was rotten to the core 7 years ago. Oh the abuse I got. Fucking idiots 🤣 of that you are right Bayern. I don’t know why people are happy to put up with it? No I don’t get it either. Scared of change? And I could understand back when I first said it but now? Nah. It’s totally illogical. It’s gone on for far too long and the owners clearly don’t have a clue how to change it.

The board royally fucked up by appointing Gary Rowett and giving him full autonomy to piss £50 odd million up the wall on overpriced dross, we're still paying the price for it. There are many other clubs stuck in a rut and trying all manner of things to try and get out of it, we're just one of them......
