I’m hoping we give some other players a chance against Soton. We need 3 in midfield as we are getting overrun in the middle of the park nearly every game. Manhoef more central hasn’t worked, when he’s advanced on the left cutting in he’s been at his best 433 Vik Wilmot Phillips Rose Stevens Burger Sidibe Moran Manhoef Koumas Bae To pick Stevens before Bocat after this afternoon's showing can't be right! The rest is spot on for me! What the f--- was Gibson doing this afternoon!!!  I feel Bocat is currently more suited as a wing back at the moment. Steven’s every day of the week for me, he’s been solid most times he’s played this season. Gibson was utter dog shit, what the hell was he doing for the second goal?! |

I just beg to his almighty god (Sir Stan), that he doesn’t play Ben, fucking, Gibson. I’ve got to get this off my chest I FUCKING HATE GIBSON WITH A PASSION He’s so bad its laughable. He does that stupid slide tackle where he goes with his left foot and just leaves the ball once a game. I actually had some hopes for him. He’s seemed steady when I’ve seen him. Instead he joins the long list of players who look utterly hopeless when they sign for Stoke. |

We certainly need to steady our midfield a bit more, and we have seen too many times that Burger and Thompson don't work together. Maybe time to try Seko, but I've only seen him play some few minutes so it's hard to say if he is an answer. Maybe worth trying anyhow as our midfield doesn't click at all at the moment.  |

One thing is for sure is that if we concede as many corners as we did in our last 2 home games,Bristol City 13,Norwich 7 and set plays well get beaten because the majority of Derby’s goals are from dead balls situations.

Gibson is atrocious. A truly terrible signing. I actually agree that we needed an experienced centre back but this guy isn’t what i had in mind at all. And someone thought it was a good idea to give him a THREE year contract. I liked Phillips yesterday, I thought he played well and deserves a run in the side.

Schumacher has no qualms of using them, but Pelach seems to have forgotten they exist.
Sidibe, Dixon and Anderson cannot possibly be any worse than Gibson, Bocat and Burger.

Ashley Williams, James Chester, Sam Vokes, Dwight Gayle etc etc. How many well past it, one good but now not players so we have to get burned by before we learn the lesson? I know occasionally you can get a last hurrah from an ageing player like we got from Taggart years ago. And I suppose Jagielka and Fletcher did ok. But more often than not it fails and you end up spending a lot of money on their wages because of their reputation from the past despite their current playing ability no longer matching up to their legacy. A good squad needs a balance of youth and experience and I do agree that we needed to bring in anexperienced head in central defence this summer. But why oh why with all the resources available can we never seem to source the right ones? |
