What is your basis for saying no way will be relegated ? Just seems to me we are regressing and if Gallagher is out for a while and the fixtures balance out , I see us bang in trouble by the end of the year . Just think we have enough quality to keep our heads out of the crocodile infested water. Hopefully when our walking wounded return we can stabilise to mid table. Vic, Phillips and Enda are good enough for most champ teams. Unpredictable Millions has always got a goal or two in him and I think Moran is going to be a mainstay. This has been coined on this board, in various guises, for some time now. I’m not sure what quality you’re referring to?

I’m trying to be positive 😊 We should have lost 10-2 last night. I thought it was a very worrying performance. No organisation, players looked unfit, no physicality, no pace. On what basis...the fact that Bristol City had 10 shots on target?? We had 6 on target (and scored twice) as opposed to Bristol's 10 (and scored twice).....so equally we could have won 6-2. I'm not sure which players looked unfit and had no pace......maybe next time face the pitch??

I am sick and tired of criticising our rubbish keepers over the years! To say that we are relying too much on him to cover up major deficiences in our midfield and defence doesn't mean I want him to let the goals in! However, it is very high risk to rely on the overperformance of one individual. If aren't careful, we will do a Rotherham who obviously tried to rely on him too much last year and got relegated. He is the only thing standing between us and the bottom three. At some point, from the law of probabilities, an injury or event just a slight dip in form, and we are in serious trouble!

You can see the manager being under serious pressure by the end of December he simply had to beat two of Cardiff , Millwall and Derby otherwise he’s going to be in results just haven’t Been good enough territory shit squad and injuries or not as you can’t see points in the other games I think Pelach and Walters will leave around the same time. If you speak to Mr Schumacher, tell him thanks for fucking nothing.

I thought he was promised a meeting/phone call when the dust had settled 🤔 He was but it has not happened mate. Completely disrespectful but not surprised at all. Perhaps if he turned up on time on the Monday morning, he'd have had his meeting with Walters on the day of his departure?? Personally, I'd have sacked him before he got on the coach at Oxford and told him to not bother coming back to the club unless he'd got some belongings to collect. He's lucky he lasted until the Monday morning in truth.

I do think there’s some slight cause for optimism.
Previously that would have ended 3-2 or 4-2 to Brizzle.
As bad as we were at times we dug in and could maybe have snatched it (undeservedly).

Given that Schumacher set such a low standard with just 1.4 points per game and a win rate of over 40%, it should be easy for Pelach to do better? A slight concern that he couldn't manage better in the Spanish third tier but maybe he’ll find the Championship easier.

I think Pelach and Walters will leave around the same time. Heard a few rumours about Schuey to Coventry if Robins is sacked🤔anything in it mate? Which shows to me the championship is mad. It’s just form and confidence which makes a massive difference. Robins is an excellent manager and doing worse than us this season. Get a couple of results together and all of a sudden you’re good, lose a couple and you’re shit. Can’t keep knee jerking with managers. I like the new manager and think once we get key players back and let him add one or two of his own it will make a massive difference

I would have been okay with his removal if we had a plan to bring in someone with a stronger track record than just leading Peralada to relegation.

They're good on the ball but they can't run. Summed it up when Vidigal come on... looked like he's on the Charlie Adam diet. Had 5 yards on their defence got caught in 30 yards towards the end of the game. Against players who had 80 odd minutes under their belt. I did face the pitch, I know what I saw.

Well he hasn't has he? He's changed the formation and style of play completely. Why’s he done that though? Is the bloke incompetent or has he realised that the squad is, in actual fact, a mess? Could be tons of reasons. He could be a stubborn bastard like TP or NJ. He could be keen to assert authority. Or he's just a normal manager having his favored style of play and not wanting to coast on someone elses work. Of course, he could be blind as a bat and incompetent, but time will tell on that one. The squad is a (semi-) mess, but that's on Walters. I think it's not half bad, but there's been some poor decisions and bad luck concerning injures.

Irrespective of the merits or otherwise of palach, that doesn’t make the decision to sack Schumacher wrong. He was useless, took us into a relegation scrap last season and was taking us into another this season. Sadly for us we have recent history of replacing a shit manager with another even worse. Who would have thought we could end up with worse than lambert? We got Gary fucking Rowett. We get shut of that arse hole and replace him with an even bigger one in Nathan Jones. We then get Alex Neil and you think, surely, after 4 of the last 5 being hopeless duds surely we can’t do any worse and we end up with Schumacher who was absolutely useless. Can we keep the trend going and get someone even worse than Schumacher? Quite possibly is the obvious answer to that particular question. Even so, getting rid of Schumacher isn’t the mistake.

How was his league record looking. 2 wins from 5, neither of which were particularly convincing?

I’m not saying Schumacher was the answer Dave, he quite likely wasn’t. Statistically though, if he kept his point per game average, that’s a top 10 finish and that would have been progress at least. My issue essentially, isn’t removing Schumacher, it’s replacing him with Pelach. We should be aiming higher than the failed manager of a Spanish third division team.

I understand you’re in a difficult situation here, I’m also not naive when it comes to ex-managers being painted in a bad light to justify the decision to sack them. That said someone I really trust did tell me what others have said about SS being notably absent for large chunks of time and training sessions being a bit of a mess. Shame as I did think there were visible signs of us being better coached under the SS reign (which to be fair compared to AN shouldn’t actually be that difficult), I also don’t believe the person in question would make something like that up either (he’d have no need to). Either way it’s in the past I guess, the brutal nature of football……

There were also promising glimpses and the atmosphere in the ground seemed to accept this. It's dead now. The players were signed and also got rid of by Ste. Lots of players, aged 33 plus were put o on the table and were fiercely rejected. Jobs for the boys seemed to be the case as far as Walters was concerned. He couldn't give a shit about Stoke. His ego is far more important.
