We need to talk about China more. I keep seeing really cool social programs and technology advancements in China so I'll just be using this thread to dump random bits I come across at times.

And to put more people out of work and make more people homeless. Under a left wing government it maybe good but we only vote for right wing governments

Singapore built the Marina Bay Sands hotel in 2010, 14 years earlier. I stayed there a couple of times, the 'infinity' swimming pool at the top is kind of different!

Authoritarian obviously but shit actually gets done and they plan for the long term as they don't have to worry about bribing voters with unaffordable goodies every 5 years.

Iβve heard some rumblings that China is in deep financial shit; a consequence of the latent effects of the one child policy, and a property bubble that is on the brink of catastrophic collapse.
Iβm not economically literate so I donβt know if to believe it, but thereβs a lot of extremely professional looking content on YouTube reporting this.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c5yp47prg7joThe speed in which China's space programme is advancing is crazy! Just goes to show what can be achieved in a short time with the right aspirations. Excited to see which advancements may come out of this.
