One of my all time faves.
Cool as fuck and a Rolls Royce of a player.
Shot like a sledgehammer and sublime passing skills.
Huddy was a massive admirer.

Played against Stoke didn't he? when we played Ajax Yes! I was there! In the Stoke End with my uncle. I remember I was disappointed Cruyff wasn't playing due to injury but was thrilled that Neeskens was playing! 1-1. Smithy headed equaliser from a Burrows corner. We were unlucky not to win, we were all over them that second half. Drew 0-0 at their's, went out on away goals. Not bad considering Ajax were considered top team in Europe. |
