Johansson - distribution was good, steady enough (7) Wilmot - just missing the pace for a full back (7) Rose - steady (7) Gibson - much better from him, hopefully not just a good time leader (7) Stevens - some decent runs forward (7) Burger - like the Burger of last season, cool and calm (8) Moran - nice goal (7) Junho - much better, at last (7) Koumas - brilliant first half (7) Cannon - lethal (9) Gallagher - perfect fit (8.5)

Johanson 7 - spectator Stevens 7 - good game Gibson 7 - as above Rose 8 - excellent Wilmot 7 - seems to have found his position Burger 7 - finding some form Junho 8 - full of energy Moran 7 - great goal Koumas 7 - very good and busy Gallagher 9 - super home debut and amazing goal Cannon 10 - lethal, every goal a classic.
Thompson 5 - ok Tezgel 5 - ok Vidigal 5 - ring rusty Bocat 5 - not convinced Junior 4 - not convinced either
The subs effectively killed the momentum and we reverted to type.

Johannesburg 7 Had little to do Wilmot 8 Solid. Hit the bar. Outpaced on one occasion but even then somehow won the duel. Stevens 7 At fault on the goal but otherwise a solid presence. Rose 7 Gibson 7 Burger 8 Really excellent tonight. Won so many 50 50s and used the ball very well. Moran 8 Deserved the goal. Junho 9 Back to himself tonight. A buzzing presence. Inventive playmaker full of energy. Gallagher 9 MOM. A massive physical presence. Great feet. Lead the press. Seems suited to playing just off the left. Actually scored two goals (first wrongly disallowed). Cannon 9 Superb finishing. If he gets service he can score. Koumas 8
Subs: Vidigal 6 Thompson 6 Tezgel 6 Bocat 6 Junior 6
Should be noted that Portsmouth look like dead certs to go down. So poor.

Johansson - anonymous (6) Wilmot - Did a great job (8) Rose - Barely noticed him (6) Gibson - Ditto (6) Stevens - Poor for the goal otherwise thought he was great (8) Burger - That’s the player we know (8) Moran - Tidy and great goal (7) Junho- Gave it away loads but brave in possession (7) Koumas - Great first half (7) Cannon - 4 goals, superb finishing (9) Gallagher - Great heart, will be a fan favourite for sure (8)
Didn’t think the subs made any impact at all. Understandable unless you’re Mike fucking Pejic and Ian twatting Cranson

The subs showed that the manager picked the right team!
It was a good idea to rest some of the players though at 6-1 up

Not sure what game people watched giving Steven’s a 6!
Thought he was excellent, solid defensively, decent passing and a good forward outlet

Vik - 7 not a lot to do but what he had to do he did well Wilmot - 8 very strong showing at right back and nearly a wonder strike Rose - 8 not up against much but solid Gibson - 8 ditto Rose Dame Edna - 8 should have done better for the goal but other than that a really strong showing and unlucky with a fantastic drive which the keeper saved Koumas - 8 was asleep for their goal and someone with more experience would have pulled the player down. A threat going forward as usual Junho - 9 looking like he’s getting back to his best and 2 assists for him Moran - 9 goal and assist and moved the ball forward at pace well Burger - 9 his best performance for a long time with some great break up play and ball movement Gallagher - 9 caused Pompey problems with his directness and pressing. Scored 1 and assisted 1 and another superb finish for the goal that was ruled out Cannon -10 - 4 goals……wow! Superb finishing, left foot, right foot, free kick and a penalty!
Pèlach - 10 got everything spot on tonight. Completely different to the 5 yard passing backwards and sideways slow ponderous passing like we did in the last 2 games. Hopefully this isn’t a false dawn like we have had against Rotherham in the past. Touch wood we are starting to see the new style of play

Johansson 6 - one good save, a nice punch and 6 good celebrations
Wilmot 7 - thought he got beat a few more times than is ideal but overall was good. Unlucky with that shot
Rose 6 - it was easy. He didn’t really have to defend. Great
Gibson 6 - same as Rose
Stevens 7 - thought he attacked well
Koumas 7 - lively. End product suspect. But pressed well.
Burger 7 - some good passing and did well
Moran 8.5 - lovely player and drives us forward
Junho 8 - easy game for him, lovely player. End product frustrating but a joy to watch.
Cannon 9 - some excellent finishes and runs and 4 goals. Wonderful
Gallagher 9 - MOM - I know his mate scored 4 but I thought Gallagher just played better. His all round play was excellent. His goal was excellent. The offside goal looked onside? It was just nice to that sort of striker work for us.

Johansson - 7 - Had so little to do he could have built a flat pack desk and then proceeded to sit at it and bash one out.
Wilmot 7 - Much better at RB, purely by virtue as I’ve mentioned on another thread you can negate the impact of his dementia moments
Rose - 7 - I didn’t hear his name mentioned once, which is superb considering I’m either screaming at him because he’s tripped over his own bellend or he’s sent a header from a corner into the troposphere.
Gibson - 7 - A steadier performance after the utter abortion of a fortnight he’s had
Stevens - 7 - Very good game tonight but he loses a mark for that hopeless fanny of a challenge against the absolute limp dick donkey of a player that is Josh Murphy
Burger - 8 - A lot more Zinger Tower Burger today, the lynchpin in the side (Yes I wanted to use the word lynchpin okay, stroke my length)
Moran - 8 - Very tidy display, is clearly a very intelligent player and a superb finish to cap off a good day at the office
Junho - 8 - The ball sticks to him like a lump of wrigleys under a school desk, I just wish he’d get himself into goal scoring positions more
Koumas - 7 - One of his quieter nights but still found himself picking the pockets of their fullback, I guess you really can’t take the Liverpool out of the boy after all.
Gallagher - 9 - Superb performance, can mix it up when he needs to but has the poise of a ballerina as seen with his goal that should have stood, also looks like a massive shithouse as well which we have been CRYING out for
Cannon - 10 - His finishing tonight was so lethal I’m going to ask my missus to take a pregnancy test in the morning.
Subs:
Bocat & Tchamadeu - 5 - I’m rating the chuckle brothers together because Portsmouth 100% had more joy when those pair came on, I think they’re good back ups but we need stronger fullbacks in January, that should be the Merseyside Mussolini’s first port of call to strengthen.
Tezgel - 4 - Did he just fuck off and sit in the stands after he came on?
Thompson - 5 - Even at 6-1 up the bloke is still allergic to passing forwards, but he didn’t do anything wrong I suppose, would have liked to have seen Sol instead.
Vidigal - 3 - He’s wank isn’t he? Wherever Schumacher held him hostage it’s clear he’s still not given him his legs back because they have gone completely.

Im sorry some of these ratings are ridiculous - we won 6-1 and destroyed them in every way.
There were 3-4 performances tonight that are up there with the best in the last 10 years.
Gallagher's performance is the missing piece we have been looking for for so long, clear as day that`s what`s been needed, no surprise Cannon became more 'freed up'.
Burger's performance was basically an almost perfect midfield performance, his best for the club by a long way.
Cannon`s performance was again what we have been missing, a striker who will take his chances, conversion rate was superb, brilliant movement and 4 goals says it all.
Johanson 8 Stevens 9 Gibson 9 Rose 9 Wilmot 9 Burger 10 Junho 9 Moran 9 Koumas 8 Gallagher 10 (MOM) Cannon 10
Thompson 6 Tezgel 6 Vidigal 7 Bocat 6 Junior 3

Stevens has to do more there. One I am really struggling with is Vidigal being given a SEVEN ... I thought it was bananas that some people had given him 5s and 6s to be honest. What was it about his performance that you think warranted a 7? He was absolutely abysmal. I like Vidigal and it's understandable to some extent given his prolonged absence but he gave the ball away every time he touched it, crosses didn't beat the first man, the shot(s) I saw him have were awful too. I don't even think he looked 'up for it', per se, but that could be a lack of match fitness. All for praising the team after that but a 7 is bonkers.

It's funny how we win when he plays but people don't rate him. Clever older player who's vulnerable to pace but is generally experienced enough to handle it. If only he could stay fit.
