There used to be better quality in this league pre FFP. With the top 6 being fairly better than the rest. Nowdays everyone is total dog shit the standard is atrocious. You’ve got bloody Tyrese Campbell and kieffer Moore spearheading an attack that will likely win the league. That should tell you enough. The quality has never been this dire. It’s progressively getting worse year on year Why? See my post above? I think it explains it pretty well. Restrictions and unfair competition creating a vacuum between the 2 leagues. The promise that the riches will fill the void, and parachute payments being the effective bribe to sway the jury.

I think this is as much by design. The top clubs have sussed how to hold the talent cards and the rest have to play with pennies. I can't believe ffp was thought to be a good idea, that those with actual cash in hand can't invest. No capitalistic system works like this. I think this is an interesting point. When you think Prem teams now have 9 subs. In the days of 3 subs those other players would probably want to playing football elsewhere and the go to place for that would be the Championship. So thats 20 x 6 = 120 players happy to be sitting on a Prem bench each week who historically would have been playing for teams like Stoke. That does make a significant difference I suppose. Bingo. But sadly one of the many ways power is held at the top of the table. The anomalies are always used as an example, i.e. if Leicester can do it why can't anyone etc, but then even the rules were changed after Leicester won to pretty much stop it ever happening again. It's so pointless, it makes football dull and repetitive. I openly admit I don't really like football, but I support stoke... So pretty much the only football I watch. The system is so broken and dull

I know we've got a probable "disciple" at the helm now but hope he adopts his own style.

After seeing him commenting today I’m backing the new regime.
He was tedious in the extreme.

Close this bloody shit thread down and grow up. Jesus.
I remember the uproar from fans and media when Bournemouth sacked Gary O’Neill after what he did there in keeping them up.
The owner made a brave decision because he wanted a certain entertaining football. They all laughed at him and thought he’d made the wrong decision including me.
They’re not doing bad are they?

From the looks of it, the stats are based over his whole time here, compared to Pelach’s 6 or so weeks. Which is just meaningless. Regardless, we still finished 17th, looked no better than we have done under previous managers in this league and left the team embarrassingly unfit. The fact people would want him back is odd. Based on this season. Schumacher 1.2 points per game 40% win rate 0.6 goals per game Goals conceded per game 0.6 Tackles per game 16.0 Shot conversion 6% Shots faced per game 13.8 Pelach 0.8 points per game 14% win rate 1.4 goals per game Goals conceded per game 1.6 Tackles per game 14.1 shot conversion 12% Shots faced per game 18.0 I’ve seen them, I don’t think they’re relevant. We’ve drawn at least one that we should have won, takes us up to at least 11th with a better goal difference. Pelach has been here 5 mins. I’m willing to let him off for the first two games. Since then it’s been fine, Portsmouth not included I don’t know what happened. I’d be worried if we hadn’t won today, but we have so I’m not even the slightest bit concerned now. The players look fitter for a start. To want someone back who is no better than what we have now is just odd. I was shocked and didn’t expect his sacking. I liked him as a person but he bored the shit out of me as a football manager. I think people remember the last 3 games of the season and convince themselves we were consistently like that. We weren’t, most of the time is was boring mediocre shit. The same we’ve suffered for years. Oxford confirmed he’d lost it. It obviously pissed JW off enough to make a decision and he did 🤷🏻♂️. He saved us from relegation but that should be the least expected of him. 17th is nothing to shout about. Give Pelach the same amount of time as Schumacher before making judgement. I’ve enjoyed some of the football more under him already and I like his approach. If he turns out shit, we’ll sack him and move on. Regardless, the only reason I want a Stoke manager to do well is because I want to enjoy watching us win football matches again and I don’t particularly care who that is at the moment. I know Steven Schumacher is not the answer though.
