Would it have been worth having him on the bench to try and do something a bit different and test out the weary legs at the end or would he have been muscled out of the game and been an unnecessary risk in a game against the team who are top of the league?
I think he warranted a place ahead of Pericard at least.

We had this conversation where I sat. This was the type of game I would try to keep him away from until he becomes more accustomed to the physicality's of the English game. Would certainly look to integrate him into first team proceedings a bit more though, on the whole.

If he's not considered good enough to get on the bench ahead of Periwankle, then he may as well pack his bags.

Well I thought Cresswell looked bollocksed for the last 20 minutes but we had no one to come on. Phillips doesn't need to get accustomed though as he's not lightweight. YEs he's small but he just rides the tackle. Pulis Jnr and Pericard should not have been on the bench ahead of him.

I agree with Nath, Demar would have been mangled yesterday. We are a Fookin big physical team, but Watford got stuck into us, and at times they managed to muscle us out of it, which not many, if any other teams have managed this season. I think his time will come, but it should be gradual.
We are a big, physical, intimidating team, which whether we like it or not, is the blueprint to get out of this league, and Demar will probably only play a small part in this, but I for one like to see teams being scared of us, so lets hope the extra of quality (Pugh, Cort & Salif Already) keeps coming in, and then we could have the right balance!

if he isn't good enough for that bench at this stage then he never will be good enough. i find it hard to get my head around this signing it's not like he's 18 isn;t he 23!!!!, remember we paid what was called a 'substantial fee' for him.
did TP know what he was buying, he seems totally out of character with his style of player.
maybe TP didn't like the fact that he came back late from Jamaica last time around????

Hope you are wrong about Pulis not likeing the fact that he came back late from International duty, but not minding Pericant spending time in Jail.

Phillips was 24 in September.

i can only think the Phillips was brought in so that little Ant doesn't stand out as the smallest player in the squad.
we don't want him developing an inferiority complex, we might need him sometime in the 2112 season when presumably he will be ready for the first team!!!

I saw philips down the ground on Saturday, he's fuckin tiny, if you thought terry conroy had skinnty legs you aint seen nothing yet! It's going to be quite a bit before he's strong enough for championship football

He is tiny - no doubt about that.
But, based on the 2-3 times I've seen him, he's certainly no shrinking violet and he really gets stuck in.
He doesn't strike me as lightweight or weak in the same way that Goodfellow, Dadason (or even Lee Martin) immediately did.

He isn't lightweight!
