Poor first half. Decent second half. Not a RB though. No he’s not! Neither was Steve Bould!

Awful first half as Shawcross also said but vastly improved 2nd half but he like many other Stoke fullbacks over the last few seasons need to play forward more,it drives me crazy First thought when receiving the ball should always be "can I play forward?".. Dixon on numerous occasions didn't even bother to look forward and when he did, simply ignored passes. I can understand not wanting to give the ball away but I think he was ultra safe last night on the ball. He played 2/3 excellent through balls in the first half.

And also didn't know how to defend a 1 v 1 situation with their wide player for the entire game apart from once when he finally blocked a cross in the second half and he turned down passing the ball to Sol all night when he was available. I like him, just think he was poor for a lot of last night.

And he made a superb run with the ball into the box first half His passing was excellent He did get beat by his winger too much first half but the HT tactical switch Ryan explained and a step up in performance by the player sorted that out For a 17 year old it was a super performance Is he going to end up as a right back? Probably not but definitely seen enough in his two games there to warrant seeing him tried there again He's only going to get better at it

Rose was the same, but I expect it from him.

He was poor defensively in the first half, but looked good on the ball. Second half he played very well all round. The winger hardly had a sniff. Not sure if he can play FB fulltime, although he's 17 and may learn the position. Either way he's very confident and will be a very good player.

I’d be starting him over junior- junior has been poor this season That's a myth! Junior has been doing well the last couple of games, even with no protection from midfield!

He isn’t a right back but he’s got the makings of an excellent centre back

Good second half. But lets be honest their young lad skinned him numerous times first half. Definitely going to be a player though. He was skinned every time in the first half and we were lucky it didn’t cost us. But I thought the second he read it better and his passing throughout was excellent. Good learning for him. Some of his footwork to get out of tight situations was brilliant.

Agree, one of the things Laurent was useful for was helping out in that space between the centre-back and full-back if the right-winger stayed high up as an outlet. We’ve missed that cover recently, imo. This isn’t me saying we should’ve kept Laurent or anything like that, but we haven’t really got to grips with who is helping in that area, meaning Junior is either covering two for an absent Wilmot, or getting isolated 1v1. I think he’s done alright in the main, but with room for improvement over the last couple of games. As for Dixon, not a right-back long-term but certainly an exciting prospect. I’d like to see him improve on how quickly he gets back in when we turn the ball over, but I think that’s possibly a me thing as it’s something which frustrated me about Hoever too!

I think it’s tougher to be a young defender - a ton of being good in that area of the park comes with experience. Reckon he’s got the makings though.

Great to see the academy producing some very talented young players.

He looked tired towards the end. Rarely passed the ball forward. Nowhere near first team fitness yet. He has time on his side though.

Defo see him as a CB who can play RB.
He will be a player.
