There’s a player nobody should expect to rock up and make us better Have seen Bosun and a good player Obviously Seko is a complete wild card I forgot Bosun was “Irish” so apologies. I was talking about Seko

we’ve played no one decent though ,so it’s sort of is In my opinion its not. We've played 5 league games, barely 10 % of the season. By any measure 2 wins and 3 losses is not a shambles. Especially with teams with an average age of 22 turning out. We need to relax a bit 🙏 tbh i’m very relaxed , only because i’m used to it , losing rarely bothers me , but how we lose does , SS doesn’t seem to know his best formation or his best team , he’s not delivering the fast attacking football he keeps banging on about , i’ve been around long enough to know it won’t change

Today's performance was a shocker. Many players had an off day and were not at the races, but Burger in his key MF role had a 'mare.
On the other hand, they are generally a young team and will have off days, they are still getting to know each other and we have an excellent GK who has also had a couple of poor games earlier in the season.
Just need to get heads down, work at their game plan, and not over use the youngsters who need handling carefully.

If you're gonna say that after 5 games then you're part of the problem if you ask me. Its 5 games. 5 and we've won 2 of them... 5 and only a lucky home draw id be with you.. It’s the same pattern as last season. I’m part of the problem 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Extrapolate that points per game over the season and where are we… I've extrapolated (sounds painful) and have us finishing on 55 points. 1 point less than last season. 🤔🤔

There’s going to be ups and downs and today doesn’t have to represent our season. I think part of the problem today was that the expectations were really high after Plymouth and today bought that hope down with a big bump. We were awful today but I think there’s been a fair amount of over reaction. The Championships such a strange division with any team capable of beating each other as Plymouth showed today. I don’t think Oxford are any great shakes but they’re certainly not whipping boys and bought well in the window particularly with Dembele. There results have been decent so far so we shouldn’t be so surprised with the result. Things do need to change but it only needs to be a little bit of tinkering. For me the biggest concern is CM where he still doesn’t seem to have sussed out his best line up. For me we’re desperately missing an old head in the middle of the park like a Barry Bannon type as we’re way to passive and we don’t have someone who’ll drag us up when heads are down. Until Lawal is fit Id bring Thompson back in. Even though he’s not the best he’s got some experience. We’ve got a cracking front 3 but they were feeding on scraps. Next week I’d go with Thompson, Moran and Burger or Sidibe. Hopefully we’ve learnt some lessons today. Biggest one being not to start Gooch. Totally agree. Having got over what was a dreadful performance, maybe it’s the reality check we needed. I think we all were looking forward to seeing Cannon et al, and the expectation of carrying on where we left off before the international break. A lot of hard work is required and hopefully no more reality checks.

Our performance, the primary school standard camera work, Sohail, the pink vs yellow kits on a green background or watching one of Morans attempts bounce off a National Express coach

Footy is very different to what I know growing up, it’s got so supposed tactical tiddlywinks I’ve started to watch a different game, worst thing is diddly winks can get exciting, these fellas can’t even get the required parts out of the bloody box, could be a one off ( not the case 1st game at home was same). Where has nogger gone.

Not the worse performance I’ve seen since we have come down by a long way but in some ways the most depressing.
Same old flaws, same lack of cohesion and the same up front, toothless because of a lack of guile, service and the final pass.
In fact the same all over, midfield, attack and defence just component parts rather than a whole and just sub standard overall.
Groundhog Day in continuum.

I don't care so much about the result but more the lack of identity. It's been years since we had a clear way of playing and consistent starting XI and formation. We're just all over the place.

We’ve got an identity. Small kids in a big boys league. Not saying it’s good. But we have one.

A good lesson for our young players today. If they are going to start winning games they will have to improve. It's harsh but I'm optimistic that this performance will wake a few of them up. Hopefully fans don't get on their backs too much, they are very young players and every game is a lesson. We will get better I'm sure of it

We've looked wank so far this season to me. Lucky to have as many points as we do. I can't see past another season teetering on the brink of relegation. Given the resources we have at our disposal we are beyond useless.

Shuey "We thought we had more than enough to beat Oxford" <---- So basically we turned up expecting to win, we got what we deserved. Absolutely this. The only common denominator we've had since relegation is the continual belief that we deserve to beat teams. The day the club/manager/team/players stop harping about [Stoke] being a big club (in signing interviews) the better. We played today like we thought we'd take three points. They might have a car park for an away end but we massively under estimated them.

I organised my day around this skysports+1 watch and settled down with a mug of tea and a bacon sandwich. Reckon it was the most depressing 95 minutes I've had in a long time. What a pile of cack.

Was an awful display, awful team selection. Junior looks worse and worse every time I watch him. Midfield was non existent. The shambles with several half arsed challenges from 4 players all in the same area of the pitch was shambolic.
Other than million, attacking wise we looked blunt until koumas showed some glimpses when he came on.
The fact the mail Ennis continues to enter the pitch shows we are still miles off.
On the manager that today.

How can it be that so many players throw in that type of performance within the same game?
How do so many professional footballers turn up on match day and fail to control a football or pass to a team mate for 90 minutes?

For me we have one stand out player at this level. Koumas
If he doesn't play we are a 17-20th team. With him we are a 7-10th team.
I do not believe we will get relegated so we are better than we were a month ago.
Swapping out Laurent for Seko is a needless risk and I don't understand why we didn't bring in cundle. Two strange decisions for me.

Shuey "We thought we had more than enough to beat Oxford" <---- So basically we turned up expecting to win, we got what we deserved. In the past when various managers have talked up the opposition, they have been criticised by many on here for being too negative and being scared of their opponents. It would seem that it is very difficult to hit the perfect balance.
