Until Lawal's fit then Thompson has to start for me.

Gotta think that Lowal and Thompson will play has the holding two eventually, If we play the 4-2-3-1 most think …. Thompson shouldn't be anywhere near the match day squad

It's going to be a long cold season I'm afraid, the 5 league games haven't exactly set the taste buds flowing.

If you look at his interception stats from last season you couldn't be more wrong: Ben PearsonLook at the point stats without him He's a liability Why don't you point me to them then, cause that sounds like the "eye test" to me

We've been poor in defence, midfield & up top since we came down,it looks like we are going to carry with that for another season.
We finally bring in a striker who is supposed to finally score some goals, yet not one player could get the ball to him in the box.

He is pretty average at tackling unlike Thompson who is one of the best at winning tackles and duals. You probably notice the tackling, but interceptions go under the radar because it is not obvious what he does. He made 39 interceptions last season compared to three for Thompson. If that doesn't proveto you that he reads the game then you are very stubborn.

The problem *is* trying to be aggressive in midfield.
We were trying to be a 433 in possession today and a 4231 without it.
Hence every time there was a turnover, positionally we were all over the place.
A few hard tackles won't fix that.
A manager that concentrates on what we can do rather than what our opponents might do will.

You will not win many football matches if your midfield cannot control the tempo of a game. Has Burger had a good game since he came back from that 2 game ban towards the end of last season??

We are never near the lose ball and always loose the 50/50s…..hell, we even lose the 70/30s in our favour. If I see one more time this fanny foot dangling purporting to be a tackle I will scream.

We really struggle to pass out of the back 4 because they pressurised us as soon as our keeper released the ball to them. If they did manage to move it forward the midfield were woeful in creating anything, hindered by nobody looking for space or making decent diagonal runs. All basic stuff really that needs sorting pronto.

When the ball went in there were 2 Oxford players and not a midfielder in sight. That goal was down to the midfield going awol.

My kid was given one of those pink tops for her birthday last week, certainly chuffed with it, but then she is a 16 year old girl.
I never want to see a Stoke team in it again. This is the championship not RuPauls drag race for fucks sake.
We are clearly lightweight at the moment but why on earth advertise the fact. It's a gift to opposition fans and a total embarrassment.

Jordan Thompson has to play especially away from home as we need some discipline in there
We only avoided relegation last season when he came in and shored in up
They were like kids in a sweet shop yesterday just like they were at Swansea last season when he wasn’t playing
Is he the long term answer?, probably not but until Lawal comes into the team he’s the only option
At home is possibly a different ball game

They didn’t dangle a foot I’m not saying all didn’t play a equal part but his body language and effort were very poor which to be fair whatever his end product is not typical of him but was the same throughout yesterday .. Burgur I said all summer I’d have sold if possible

We went through this for years with Whelan. Different league completely, but unless you have someone disciplined in your midfield who's prepared to do the horrible side you're simply not going to succeed.
He's not flash, glamorous or a goal-scoring threat but JT should start every game until someone proves they can do it better.
