That's a very young Leicester team, too. Lad who scored twice played against my lad last season.

The 21s have gone to shit. Results since Morris moved to the senior squad in the spring and Ryan took over have been awful.

Sporting director, assistant head coach, u21 manager, all ex Pulis signings. There are several others involved as well in different roles. 7 or 8 altogether I think from the same era? I believe we should 'look after our own' so far as to give some experience, internships, or whatever they want to call it, but it should not mean an important full time job at the club for everyone who happened to play here.

A losing under 18’s / under 21’s team is often a sign of strength of the academy not a weakness. We have players in the first team squad that would be regular u-21’s, loads of u-18’s playing in the u-21’s and plenty of 16 year old playing u-18’s.
In the past we’ve had successful u-23’s teams results wise but no first team pathway as they were ultimately not good enough…..

One of the reasons we left.

Are our fans overly obsessed with U21 results? Are they such a big deal, surely there are other factors to consider with our young players development. It might be easier to put a team together to be more successful at that level but would that be the best approach?

Stockport played a decent amount of their first team by the looks of that, including Nick Powell
8 of their 11 starters have played for their first team this season

If it was anyone other than Shawcross, they'd have been gone a long time ago On the evidence of watching this afternoon he certainly likes scratching his head. He was a great player for us. I don't think he was a great captain - he did well when there were other 'captains' around. That's why I don't think he'll ever be a manager.
