Doesn't sound like Gibson's injured "Just wanted more physicality on the transition today" according to Alex Morris. Absolutely mind blown physicality an wilmot don’t belong in the same sentence

Foolish. The midfield is an unbalanced mess. Bring back Josh Laurent ...and I was wondering if his name would be mentioned in the match day thread

Maybe the best players available picked, but not sure that means the best team. We look a bit featherweight .... time will tell. Hope I'm wrong!

On the Bayern Cowardometer what do you rate the team selection today? 10 being General Custer and 0 being Scott of the Antarctic (no relation to Keith) It is Captain Oates level for me...... Minus 5!!!! Hopefully doesn't take 'some time'! This seasons going to be a rollercoaster but I doubt it'll be boring. Of course the folk on the oatcake will show patience and understanding! 😄

If the injury is just painful but not dangerous, there is no problem. I think the staff are professional and know what they are doing. Nope, pain is a result of a trauma and further activity can cause damage. Either he’s fit to play 90 mins or he’s not BO’s point is valid, what if he needs to come on early? You’re right, players never play with pain

No I just think it’s bullshit. He’s either fit enough to be starting or not fit. If a centre half gets injured after 5 minutes who would he bring on? Dixon possibly. The bench is light today so no harm in having Gibson at 75%. If he was taking a spot of a fully fit player then I’d agree but he’s not Doesn’t sound like he’s injured so it doesn’t matter. It’s just a mental decision.

Shouldn’t be on the bench then? 🤷♂️ On the Bayern Cowardometer what do you rate the team selection today? 10 being General Custer and 0 being Scott of the Antarctic (no relation to Keith) Always assumed Keith was his son

I think he slotted into the team seamlessly, having come to the club as a young player and to play so confidently is really encouraging. We feel that for today's game, in terms of what we want from the game, we're going to want a but more physicality on the transition to deal with anything that comes back at us when we're attacking."

Can we not let discussion on the team thread be dictated by an individual posters minor gripes please. For once.
It's an attacking team, full of footballers that I don't despise. Come on Stoke.

Well whatever the manager/coach does, the team he picks and the tactics he uses it is going to be wrong to some on this board so let’s just watch and see.
It’s a bold line up, let’s hope it works.

And Wilmot is the solution? That defence worries me hugely. Just got to hope the exciting looking forward line delivers.

A very worrying midfield. Far too lightweight I'd guess the plan is to get in front and bring Sol on for Junho later To be fair other than that we are actually out of options with Pearson ,Lawal and Thompson injured and Seko not yet had a training session

Really is time for Mmaee to earn his place.
I think he's shown some good flashes but been isolated. Defo got the players around him to shine today.
I'm worried about being unbalanced (rather Burger-Sidibe) and about Schuey coaching everyone into the same area of the pitch and a big traffic jam... Fingers crossed!

Push Bae left and Koumas central. Bae is more physical than some people seem to think and he brings more energy than Mmaee.

People who always point out the negative, always ‘win’ in their own minds. They can say ‘I told you so’, or say they are happy if it goes well (or we were lucky). It’s just nice to see some quality attacking players in the team, and hopefully a setup that’s focused on the opposition. Hopefully it goes to plan.

We will have to wait and see the outcome, but this line up suggests to me that we are saying to the opposition…this is what we’ve got, can you handle it? For the first time in ages I think it’s a line up where we are more intent on what we can do to them, rather the usual worrying about what they can do to us. Go on Stoke!

We played 4231 at home last week this isn’t much different to that. Who is the other DM? Looks like an attacking 433 with the 2 eights It’ll be burger sitting with Moran starting deep and getting forward (box to box in old money)

I don’t think losing changes anything re the manager. If I thought he’d be sacked off the back of it then that’s the only time I’m cool with it. It’s for the greater good. A loss today would be just terrible.
