Zooming in and slowing the footage it’s not even a foul imo. It starts as a 50-50 ball as Gooch closes in the bloke leans back and puts his right arm out to block him, Gooch's momentum carries him into the bloke back sending him flying. Gooch's, you cheating twat, reaction to the player on the deck says it all

A nothing challenge from a nothing player. Alex Neil paid how much for him? One of the worst I've ever seen in a Stoke shirt, pound for pound. A dreadful footballer. The fact that he’s been played at LW for 3 games in a row is shambolic. Arguably the worst decision one of our managers has made since relegation. It's utterly bizarre to think anyone with half a brain cell would think it'd work. Which makes me worry about SS!

Bollocks to them, the cheeky twats put up a BTA appreciation post after he injured Wilmot, which was a lot worse than what Gooch did, WBA fans lapped it up finding it amusing
Thought Gooch was barely a foul let alone worthy of an apology, Diangana just went down awkwardly

We would have been better having him sent off - he failed to cut out the cross for goal no.1 and missed cutting out a cross field pass that led to the move that ended up in the net, although maybe the goalie could have done better

One of their big centre backs did a far worse feet off the ground scissor tackle on the young Liverpool lad yesterday right in front of me.
It could have been Carrer damaging but luckily he just got up and shrugged it off.
The back breaking foul on Wilmot, again in front of me, was a disgrace.

He was well regarded at Sunderland. Just another of many promising players that have taken big steps backwards after signing for Stoke. Not to mention he was played totally out of position yesterday - that’s down to SS.

I couldn’t care less about WBA though, you reap what you sow. Never liked them since the Mowbray days of West Brazil.

Watched the recent 'Sunderland Till I Die' Netflix series and its clear that Gooch is clearly Sunderland through and through. In a similar way to what Stoke meant to Shawcross.. Not questioning his commitment to Stoke at all, but sometimes when you have a club that's been your base and home for such a long time, moving on whether by personal choice or club decision can always be a struggle.

Surprised Gooch got close enough to foul him.

Wilmot was in the air and that thug (correct use of the word thug in this case) went through the back of him. You can break fucking necks doing that. It was a straight red. That little prick, big prick actually committed 2 red card offences before actually getting a yellow card that day. Yet another appalling referee performance..

Not even a foul. Just unfortunate if its resulted in an injury. Absolutely, no foul and just one of those things. From what I’ve read WBA fans aren’t that bothered about it at all. It wasn’t a dirty game, pretty evenly contested in the main but they were just better than us and worthy winners. Just need to beat Rooney next week.
