A pointless exercise. We won't be going back to the city crest, so it will be a new bespoke design that will, once again, split the support down the middle.
Leave it be.

I’d love us to go back to the 80s crest.

Wasn’t in favour of changing from the City crest but have to say the simplicity of the current design has grown on me. The reasons for the re-design were made pretty clear at the time and have to say from a marketing and recognisability point of view has worked well. Yes, leave well alone.

Is that because we somehow can't claim the cities Coat of Arms as our own? Something like that. A lot of clubs have moved away from adopting their city's coat of arms, probably for that reason.

I have no problem with the current design and don't quite understand the displeasure shown by many. In my opinion, it is a strong reinforcement of our long history with the red and white stripes and has now become very recognisable as being our brand identity. I do, however, think that the border should be changed to black as that is clearly a colour that finds its way onto kit quite frequently. The blue is fine if there is a splash of blue elsewhere. Those pining for a return of the city crest will no doubt remain disappointed as I cannot see its return personally. Any new badge will be a whole new design (though I would expect elements / inspiration from the crest to potentially feature in some way). P. S. The attached image is a slightly amended version of something a fellow poster posted a while back (sorry cannot recall who it was) and would be something that I think could work. A good blend of old and new(ish)

Out of all the badges in our history I think the current one is the worst and I would love us to swap.
Biggest two changes needed are:
Lose the blue Add something that represents the history of the area like a kiln, a staffs knot

Must be in the minority but I quite like our badge I do too, but I would like us to go away from the blue on it, maybe change it to black or change the whole badge to black

Must be in the minority but I quite like our badge Very easily spotted because of it's simplicity. I do like how it was adapted on something this summer to incorporate a bottle kiln but that's all I would want to change.

It should have the bottle kiln or Staffordshire Knot as a minimum requirement.
The club has done a great job incorporating the kiln into the shirt design so we need similar for the badge

Maybe a distribution warehouse might be more appropriate?

So, I agree a kiln should be incorperated into the badge.

The current badge is horrendous, especially the original design with the Icelandic blue. Nothing against Iceland but it would be the equivalent of Saudis taking over and incorporating green.
Whenever you see all the club badges together I feel like ours stands out for how naff it is.
The badge is slightly less unpalatable when it’s simplified, eg; on kits.
Still though, this is a change that’s needed to happen for years IMO. The fan created design that someone posted above is infinitely better. Hopefully the club nail this like they’ve been doing with a lot of off the pitch projects of late.

It was nothing to do with Iceland If it was it would be a darker blue Phil Rawlins commissioned a US design company who came up with it But yes happy to see the blue go,just not Stoke

considering the age of the club, our badge should reflect the heritage of it and the local area. It should absolutely be the attached, not the full city crest. We need to get rid of the complete abomination of a badge we have now. Makes us look a load of cheapskates who don't give two cares in the world about how we're perceived. I don't want some re-design from anyone giving it some dogshit 21st century 're-imagining', i want intricacy in the design, history, pride and meaning. Not block-colours and stright lines that are akin to the shit show we currently have. i don't want to hear about 'it'll cost more' either, teams in divisions below us have better badges and nowhere near the budget we do.
