More traveling and only 3/4 days before the Plymouth away game 😳 Wouldn't blame him if he left 7 first teamers at home.

Play a strong side and beat em definitely. One game after this one then it’s an international break. We can rest then

Tough draw for Middlesbrough

I'm sure that's how everyone feels on both sides. You want a draw that isn't, in effect, just another Championship game. We already have 46 of those.

I see this as both a good and bad fixture. The bad it's obviously not the easiest draw especially away. The good it's a cup that doesn't really matter to the fans or anyone really in the football world apart from the lower league clubs and that's only if they progress through it a fair amount the money to them really can make a world of difference.
Now if SS treats this like our last tie where he is giving chances to th3 younger players who are on th3 frindge of breaking into the first team. Then thus fixture could be really important in those circumstances. Playing against a team that they will be facing week in, week out, but without the worry of dropping any points in the league which is the main thing we care about. This fixture will truly test their character and SS can see how they compete at the level they need to be.
And if I was SS I would be very tempted to treat this match as exactly that. Have plenty of the first teamers on th3 bench. Tell the team go out have fun and show me what you can do. If we win then great but if not then at least it will give him a much better idea to nowhere the young folk are.

It just doesn’t matter does it, no one is arsed about it until the quarter finals. Crowds will be low with hardly any atmosphere and weak teams are played. Save ya money.

Last thing we need midweek is a trip there in a shite cup Why has it become a shite cup though. We won its equivalent in 72 and progressed well a few times, beaten finalists in 64 and semi finalist few years ago. It’s some clubs only hope of silverware given that the mighty and righteous of PL don’t compete.

Id be leavig the starting 11 at plymouth at home in bed unless thet fly straight to plymouth from teeside wed morning

Do see that from the other night but look at the crowds and the line ups. Not just this deason. Having one cup would ignite the FA Cup as well perhaps The Champ schedule is busy enough as it is without this

It's a good game to help the new players bed in. Also it give the youngsters another chance to hone their skills.
