I might be too critical, butI'm far from impressed by Sohail so far. I think if your job is to comment football matches on a regular basis you should at least learn the names of the players you will watch almost every week. Right now he doesn't seem able to seperate a black player from a white one. That is probably good if racism was the point, but this is about commenting football!

Controversially, Sohail really grew on me as the season progressed, after a shaky start as he got used to radio being a very different medium, and I thought he was actually good by the end of the season, and had developed a bit of a connection with the club. I'll be disappointed if he's gone.

The last I read Grapey is that he’ll be back from the Oxford away match , but who knows!?

He grew on me quite a lot but if you had the option of Sohail or Simon Humphreys I know who I'd pick.

I'm sure he's an alright bloke but he's an awful radio commentator and has actually put me off attempting to listen after many years of doing so. There was just no point. I hadn't got a scooby what was happening in matches so, my fingers are crossed that he's left to do something more suitable but I won't hold my breath it could just be a ruse to lure those of us back who gave up in desperation. Alex Neil/SS with their hands down their blue tracksuit trousers is no match for red and white stockings although possibly equally as risque an image

To say nige didn’t paint a picture is ridiculous. I grew up listening to him on the radio for stoke and the way he described was fantastic for me.

The games in lockdown really showed him up.

What was happening on the screen did not tally with what he was describing.

Most of the time you’d listen and someone would score and you’ll have a clue who it was. It was awful.
