Doak looks a useful player for Scotland. He's run the Croatian left back ragged all night.

My picks of the day are both in the Northern Premier League West. Congleton v Newcastle Town- go on the train, Congleton is a nice town for a drink. Both sides are enjoying good form, placed 5th and 7th respectively and only two points between them. Think it’s £10 to get in. Stafford Rangers v Trafford is free today if you have a season ticket for a football league club.Marston Road is easy to get to and park up, and is an old school non league ground hop. A rare chance to see the ‘afford derby too 😂

Off the subject, are Uruguay the most overachieving nation in international football? With a population of 3.5 million people they would have to be. In recent times, maybe Croatia?

Ashton v Leek is a bit of a bore fest so far, 0-0 with 360 in attendance.
Didn't realise Ollie Shenton had signed for Leek, he and Adam Porter have been fairly quiet first half......

I made the mistake of watching the first half of Crewe v Notts County on the TV. Gordon Bennett! There will be better football played on Longton Park tomorrow morning. Notts County think they are Man City and keep trying to play out from the back, usually giving the ball away 5 yards outside their own penalty area and Crewe really aren't a lot better. The only goal came from Crewe clearing a Notts County corner. All the outfield Notts County players were within 30 yards of the Crewe goal, so when the ball was played into space the Crewe forward had a free run from his own penalty area and to be fair he kept his composure to tuck the ball under the keeper. It was schoolboy defending at its worst. I think I will wash my hair during the second half.

Vale and Crewe the top 2 in the 4th division Said the day he was appointed it was a fantastic appointment for them and id have willingly swapped him for SS to much derision at the time , , think they will continue to dominate that league and do well in the one above

Proper old school non-league ground in fairness, worth a visit I reckon yeah. We're spoilt for choice around Cheshire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester and Lancashire.....

To suggest he was a better option than Schumacher even now is ridiculous though. Moore had plenty of time to save Vale from relegation last season and his record was atrocious. Even if they get promoted this season (and with their budget, it would be an abject failure if they don’t) they will struggle again in League 1.
