Let’s not place too much expectation on the lad. West Brom’s defenders sussed him out in the second half and handled him well. Other teams will have seen that. The big question is whether he can overcome experienced defenders watching him more carefully. He was a breath of fresh air and really great but yeah, some defenders will suss him out and other teams will just set up too deep so we need another option. Maybe that's Gallagher? I want Koumas starting up top for now though!

From what I saw on Saturday we would be wasting money buying another striker. Bartley is an absolute unit & Koumas run him ragged all game until he was moved out to the left. The only downside was the lack of quality behind him other than Manhoef. The amount of defense breaking runs he made in behind to only be ignored by 7 touches Thompson was criminal. It was clear to see that he was by far our biggest threat. Maybe switch him to the left once Gallagher is fit but until then he needs to be up top. Agreed, except we need backup. Lots of young players can't handle the 48+ games a season championship. PL managers may moan at the number of games, but they have no idea how it it further down, with matches coming thick and fast, sometimes maybe with just a single days rest between them. We have Ennis & Mmaee, if you can call that back up.

Great full debut. Looks amazing. It's quite frightening how much better his touch is than more seasoned professionals. Hopefully Tezgel can learn from him.
Just need to remember how young he is and not over play him.

Are we really expecting a forward line of Bae, Million and Koumas to power us through the season? I just don’t see it. The lack of physicality is alarming and Koumas isn’t the type of central striker we need to play up to and play off. He looks excellent but he’s 18 and can’t be expected to carry us on his young shoulders. So, if we bring in another striker, how do we set up going forward if we don’t see Bae as a 10?

I can't see it happening or being very successful if it is tried. No idea how you solve it other by Koumas and Junho competing for the wide left position if Junho isn't played as an advanced midfielder which is something I would persevere with for sometime if we can sign a more physical CF or have Gallagher fit for any length of time. I agree that the front line proposed is far too lightweight.

I mentioned this yesterday that if Koumas features we'll have a selection headache and I know everyone can't play, but with a new striker, what will be our midfield and attack line up when all are available? Lawal, Burger, Bae, Koumas, New Striker, Million? Your thoughts.

I still think we'll try and bring another midfielder in but as long as Laurent, Baker and Thompson aren't starting it would be a good start. Million - Striker/Koumas - Bae/Koumas (rotate as form/injuries dictate)

It doesn't answer the question of our strongest XI though. I know there are loads of games and we have subs to bring on. It's not the point I was making.

And once again this is why it is very daft to judge a player before he has played for you.
A few on here were saying he won't be ready and is lightweight.
Brilliant player

I think for his age he's absolutely exceptional. You could tell in 20 mins Saturday he's the best player on the pitch.

So it appears he can play in all 3 forward positions... quite the conundrum. One things for sure, he has to start.
