Pearson added nothing to us when he was playing so how is he going make a difference? He’s been average but if played correctly he’s just what we need if he’s disciplined and played to his strengths. Individually we have some good midfielders at the club but currently the balance is all wrong. Pearson is a one paced plodder. He’s been really poor for us and his disciplinary record makes him a liability. You need 7 or 8 athletes and a sprinkling of flair to get out of this division. Why we keep signing pedestrian one paced players is beyond me

What has he done in the past to make people think he is going to the savior of this club? This is a question I would really like answered. I have no knowledge of the player so this is in no way mean as a dig at the player, but the expectation seems to be really high for a player who has played one full season at one level below where we are at the moment. I could understand if ther were expectations that he will become a good player in a couple of seasons given he is young, but some seem to be of the belief that he will walk into our starting XI and revive our fortunes.

Celtic reject with a loan at Fleetwood and now has a fractured back. This is what it’s come to. Talk about clutching at straws….

Hate to say it but a Celtic supporting friend was amazed at the thought that he could transform us. Hopefully good coaching at Fleetwood + a burst of confidence will have helped.

Hes been playing League 1, never played a minute in the Championship. Broken back. No pre-season and we are going expect him come in and play like a prime Yaya Toure. It's just never ever going to happen. I can see the fans not taking to him, not because he's not a decent player. But because the expectation compared to what he's going to be able to deliver are worlds apart.

I have an Irish family member who’s friends with a member of staff on the Irish national setup. When I spoke to him about Lawal he said that he’s very highly rated over there, which I was surprised me given his age and lack of experience - basically I was surprised my family member had even heard of him. He also said he’d been told some premier league clubs had been in for him which may corroborate what others have said. I’ll qualify this by saying I’ve never seen the lad play so have no idea what to expect in terms of his quality or potential impact.

Long lay offs like this always come with calf/hamstring strains after he’s got fit again as I don’t think he’s even on the grass yet is he and we’re basically in November. So by the time he’s fully fit and able to play consistently we could be in league one anyway.

Realistically we cannot have any expectations of Lawal this season, if he can get his fitness up and play a couple of games and not get an injury setback before the end of the season, that is a bonus. A full summer pre season and fully up to match fitness then next season we can see what player we've got on our books.

Agree and it’s Been pretty obvious for weeks , bonkers recruitment £3.5 m on him and Gallagher out of 92 possible games we will be luck to get 15

www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/stoke-city-injury-bosun-lawal-9680676“Then we have Bosun Lawal who is getting a scan today. It’s an important day for us in relation to this because he’s had a stress fracture in the back as we know and the scan will give us further information – and hopefully we can start to make steps in the right direction with him and get him back onto the grass next week maybe. It depends on the test so I can’t wait until this evening to know the outcome because we need him. “He’s a strong, physical player. I think he’s a good addition to the squad. I didn’t know him before but I’ve been analysing him a lot over the last six weeks with previous games he played last season. I think he’s a player who can give us a lot and I can’t wait to have him available. Hopefully this evening we will receive good news and we can start building him up. He missed a bit of pre-season too so it’s not just bringing him back, it’s building him up.

There’s no harm in signing injured players because it’s better to have them than not have them if you rate them. You surely have to sign someone else alongside them though, in this case a CM with some physical attributes.
