Was he? He had two absolutely amazing seasons but these are his league goal amounts. 10 12 20 8 5 29 11 5 I just think it’s surprisingly a bit meh. So the two 5’s and an 8 are a surprise but for all I know could have been from injury plagued campaigns. All the rest are quite respectable. Tons of players don’t score 20 goals every season. They don’t but I think compared with the top strikers the PL has had it wouldn’t hold up that well. I just thought he scored more tbh. |

Yup always right up toward the top of the premier league top scorers during his Chelsea career. The role of a striker/goalscorer is so much different now. Drogba wasn't just a goalscorer, but if you got 20 goals 15/20 years, you were the best in the business. Now you've got players knocking in 30+ with ease but they might not do a lot else. Drogba was class. They’re tending to be players from different positions too. How many proper CF’s are scoring 15/20 goals a season now? |

I’ve not seen enough of him to make a judgement but the best players don’t make the best team, you have to have variety and we ain’t got no one like him in the squad jack charlton once asked Alf Ramsey ‘ boss why do you pick me when there are better centre half’s than me ‘ to which Alf replied ‘ I pick players to fit the system and they don’t necessarily have to be the best players ‘ |

Virtually every championship squad we come up against seems to have that type of option. It's been missing for us for a number of seasons. Glad we've got one even though I could have thought of a few of a similar type who I'd have been more excited about. |
