How good would that be!!! Would be a great loan signing, but could we afford his wages though? Could Lowe do the Gallagher roll if we could recall him from his loan? He’s doing great at Walsall but it’s a much lower level and we can’t recall him till January anyway. So we have no choice but to just leave him there at the moment, which is probably no bad thing for his development as he’s playing regularly and scoring.

I really don’t know mate, I was just going off what was said in this thread rightly or wrongly It’s been pretty obvious since it happened there is a reluctance to declare the real extent of the issue for whatever reason and the vacuum that creates is a space these rumours can thrive on no matter how incorrect or correct . Such a shame as he’s a very good player at this level but his absence is clearly an embarrassment for those who took a risk on him v other options and ignored his appearance stats , coupled with Lawal it looks extremely naive and certainly strategically is a huge issue given when they are fit .We have a new set of problems with the front 5 all likely to leave next summer so a outside shot at the top 6 has turned into survival and another huge transition likely to lead to another settling error st best According to this NHS website it looks like thigh issues aren't easy to pin down and most clear up in a couple of weeks and don't require a more detailed medical examination until after 6 weeks - although I suspect it would be done sooner for a professional sportsman - www.nhsinform.scot/illnesses-and-conditions/muscle-bone-and-joints/leg-and-foot-problems-and-conditions/thigh-problems/. One possibility appears to be deferred pain from a back problem. Hopefully that isn't the case here but if Gallagher does have an undiagnosed back problem it might explain his injury record.

Should be back in 3 weeks ( so I’ve been told) Interesting and implies they know what the problem is already. In which case why not declare it?

I was thinking it too, obviously not as good yet as Gallagher, but he's not doing to bad at Walsall, so his confidence will be pretty high!!! He's in League 2 not 1 so the transition to Championship level is still big and he's only been there a few months. I think he stays. We need a striker in January if Gallagher is unreliable. Until then it's nip and tuck and really not ideal given our options.

Stoke City have sent striker Sam Gallagher to Dubai for warm weather training in a bid to help a calf injury.
Gallagher only joined the Potters in the summer but has had a recurrence of a problem that haunted him at Blackburn.
Early fears of Gallagher being out for three months prompted the decision to send him to the Middle East to speed up the process.

His style of play is a real bonus for our team It’s a big if, BUT if we can manage his fitness it will be a bonus ( miracle?) The purchase was a big gamble We had the chance to sigh Demba Ba and declined We need a replacement / backup for him in January We need to hang on to Cannon to play alongside this type of forward

You know how we're paying you £25,000 per week and have been for a number of months now? And how during that time you've added no value whatsoever, aside from your fragrance advertisement good looks, and a decent runout against Pompey? Well, now we're going to send you to Dubai on an all expenses paid trip, where you can continue to add no value for the £25,000 per week that we will continue to pay you. You stupid sexy bastard."

To be fair to the club, the big sexy bastard is exactly what we need, he is the answer to all our woes and transforms us as a team.
He was available, and most importantly of all, wanted to come here.
The club deserve criticism for many many things, but this is pure bad luck. He was the right signing, but yes, with risk due to his injury record. But we are a nobody team these days, safer bets in the same mould aren’t bloody interested in us.
Right signing, pure bad luck.

It was worth the risk.

The challenge now is to manage him And in the meantime adjust our set up to maximise the chances of success

Looked through the goalscorer odds on Bet365 before the game and Gallagher was listed 🤔

It was worth the risk. His declining number of performances season after season says that no 'bad luck' was involved. There can be nothing worse than signing players on large salaries that are injury prone and rarely play.. It is a luxury we simply cannot afford and yet it happened Terrible business

Had we not gone for him equal numbers would be screaming ‘lack of ambition’ / ‘no vision’ / ‘club can’t see what we need’ etc etc etc. Right signing, just not worked out for us.

To be fair Pelach didn't sign him He made an enormous difference to Cannon especially but we knew had this injury issue and here we are It's not bad luck Spurs signed Solanke whose injury record was non existant,he got injured, that's bad luck Lawal is different as that's not a history of injury

He is here for 3 years, if he playes more than 35 games in that time I will be amazed. More money spunked up the wall that could have gone on a younger fitter player.

Said it before.
Walters gave a speech about patience being needed this season, and showed zero to Schumacher.
Yet he oversaw two key signings (Lawal and Gallagher) that neither were available for the head coach.
The lack of strategy and foresight is abysmal and amateurish.
We needed a lynchpin midfielder available from the get go. And a top drawer centre forward too.
Shambles.

Great work if you can get it.
Bet his hotel in Dubai is linked to a golf course. Probably insisted on it as part of his rehab
