He was fantastic tonight, really put himself about and created space for others. Refreshing to see him play alongside Cannon as well.
Can see him doing very well here, he's the sort of forward that we love.

His goal was the pick of the bunch.
Cannons goals were sublime but there is nothing better than watching a ball get absolutely twatted almost through the net from distance.

He was superb, his movement and ability to find pockets of space shows he's an intelligent player.
Based on tonight's performance, you can understand why the likes of Szmodics and Armstrong scored goals with Gallagher playing in the same side as him. Hopefully we see the same impact with Cannon etc.

Quality performance. Great presence up front. Good target to aim for. Made space for cannon time and again. And what a goal.
Well done Sam. Fantastic stuff.

As I’ve said for weeks on here him and Cannon up front together will make a difference for us in this league, both were outstanding tonight. We also had 2 players at fullback who know how to defend which makes one hell of a difference

Trying to think if anyone has had a better home debut since relegation. Gallagher was top class. Finished well, ran with it, created, held it up, pressed! The man can do it all!

And the bonus is the performance of Bae Junho who looked like last season’s form is returning.

I spend a little time on the Blackburn board so I’ve read a lot of their opinions on him. I can only say tonight was a massive, massive pleasant surprise! Thought he was fantastic.
(That said, you can’t not give a bloke who’s scored four MotM, you just can’t)

We also had 2 players at fullback who know how to defend which makes one hell of a difference Maybe I'm wrong but I think I noticed this: today the fullbacks during the build-up started further back. Previously they rotated Junior into RCB and pushed Bocat up. That left Bocat busting a gut to get back and Junior a bit confused against multiple attackers whenever they broke. Anyway fantastic start from Gallagher.

A new RB in January is a must though.

Strike partnerships are sadly increasingly rare but him and Cannon could well be an excellent one. Thought the understanding between them both was amazing given it was their first start together.
And agree with others, think he’s going to be a fan favourite if he carries on like that!

Really impressed by SG tonight, was my MOTM too. Particularly liked watching him with his back to goal and instead of always just laying it off, having the will to regularly use his strength to push and turn to keep moving forward. So great runs, some great passes and it goes without saying, WHAT. A. STRIKE.

He was superb and should have had 2 as his first was onside.
His link up play was great and he really put himself about. We need to use him sparingly like we did last night though as there’s no one else at the club like him. Mmaee is similar but not as willing to do the chasing and dirty work.
His goal was an absolute cracker.
